Lol i see what you mean. Hmm you'll speak to a lot of epople who may say things to justify their own deeds, i came accross that myself when i started inquiring on wether to grow a beard or not. the best answer is to go to someone knwoledgeable who understands the Qur'an and hadeeth, ie a scholar and ask for yourself

Yeah of course, but not murdering someone is also not one of the 5 pillars, doesn't mean we can murder people. Either way, the first pillar says to believe in prophet Muhammed PBUH as a messenger, that means following his commands, in which he has instructed women to do hijab

Umm are you a revert? If so i'd probs advise that, do it if parents feel ok with it. I know some revert sisters who initially didn't wear it around their parents ever, only when they were with their friends or in the mosque, or praying. but gradually they started, first came the conversion, then asking of halal meat and eventually to the hijaab
