Going off topic about satan but-
I read that the Jews at first didn't believe in the devil. (I learned from a scholar from a religion class) There was nothing of it in the Torah at first I think. They said that all bad things that happened were the human's faults. Then when too many bad things were happening, they had to seek a higher power to blame. They took the idea of the devil from the Zoorastrians (sp?) The Zoorastrians believed in two gods, one dark and one good. Hence God and the devil became two opposing forces.
ok........that is a bit of Jewish history, don't know what to make of it. |
