Really? I am mildly interested in the idea of a Mahdi and the textual basis for that belief, but I have taken enough punishment in this thread for one day so I think I'll pass. But first, may I ask you to explain the difference in Islam between the two?
(And actually the Jewish Messiah is not Jesus and cannot be a figure like Jesus, but has to come to Earth to create a reign of Justice and Peace over the whole Earth. That sounds like the Muslim Mahdi to me but then I am not a Muslim).
