Salamu alaikum wa rehmatullah,

If one is to look into the Bible with an open mind and in particular the four Gospels, you will have to admit that according to the New Testament, Prophet Jesus[p] was described as the Son of GOD. Although muslims over the years have been eager to deny this fact but after going through the Gospels carefully, one cannot help concluding that they or alteast one does mention Jesus[p] as some cosmic being and a divine person.

So how do we as muslims prove from the Bible or atleast provide good evidence to our Christians brothers and sisters that Jesus[p] was no more than a Messiah, The last of the Jewish Prophets and Allah's Messenger?

Read the following article titled Who was Jesus[p]? on this site;
http://www.islamicboard.com/comparat...o-jesus-p.html (Who was Jesus[p]?)

I've shown to some extent how Prophet Jesus'[p] image as Son of GOD evolved from one Gospel to next and how the later writer[s] changed the traditions, narrations and even the text of the prior in order to elevate Jesus[p] to a godly being.

Just to give one small example; The Gospel of Mark describes Prophet Jesus[p] as Son of GOD three times although one such mentioning is questionable, so that would leave only two mentionings of Jesus[p] as Son of GOD in the earliest and the most authentic Gospel we can get our hands on. However, as we move farther to the last Gospel [John] and the year 100 C.E. Approximately the time when it was writen, and some thirty years after Mark wrote, we fined Jesus'[p] mentioning as Son of GOD rise considerably. Infact Jesus[p] is mentioned as the Son of GOD nine times in "John's" Gospel.

On the face of it, it may seem an in-significant point but it carries great implications. I have provided ample evidence in my article but this brief point is enough to show that if we go back from John to Mark, Jesus[p] becomes more human than divine. Its no wonder we don't find Christian quoting Mark's Gospel that often as John but we've all heard these over and over;

John 1:1: "...The Word was GOD."
John 14:9: "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father."
John 6:35: "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life."
John 8:12: "I am the light of the world."
John 8:58: "Before Abraham was, I am."
John 10:7: "I am the door of the sheep."
John 11:25: "I am the resurrection, and the life."
John 14:6: "I am the way, the truth, and the life."
John 15:1: "I am the true vine."

Notice that all these extravagant sayings are from John. But as we go back to Mark's Gospel, Jesus[p] is more of a human prophet than a divine son of GOD or the third person in a mysterious Trinity. And as we keep moving closer to time of Jesus'[p] ministry, what we fined is the exact Jesus[p] as mentioned in the Glorious Qur'an, a mortal man, a human Prophet, the Jewish Messiah and GOD's Messenger.
