All that the verses are saying is that they will be punished in the next life and that Allah will not forgive them. That does not imply that there will be no punishment in this life as well, nor does it specify that it is the only punishment they will receive.

it is true the qur'an's references to god's punishments do not preclude punishment at the hands of men, but i still think, with something this important (and taking a life is very important), god would have mentioned it in the qur'an. so i have a problem with the credibility of the hadiths that call for capital punishment for the apostate.
but, really it matters not what i think, so i will drop it.
it is something in islam that does bother me, though.
