say like if u eat that sweet, i will eat tobacco (my dad use to) or like i will not have food if u eat sweet. as it comes to mind will tell u, and be very soft to him as he must be in pain. May Allah Tallah make things easy for him. speak gently and lovingly with him , get some flowers around to make him feel fresh. and behave like he is not ill i mean its a part of life something like that. and just be there like a support, he might get angry or irritated for no reason . just give a smile and be patient. all this gives a loving support and adds to healing also.
