Cool Islamic prespective on mental illness - 10-11-2008

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
I have a friend who is muslim and also diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. She is on medication which makes her sleepy and tired so she has a hard time waking up for fajr prayer. I heard that there is a verse in quran that says people who are sick or taking medication do not have to follow all the rules (like praying) of islam...is this true or not?
thanks for your help
layla

might be useful;

i think its good if you ask on the islamtoday or islamqa site, because each person has different situations, so some people might still have to pray, while others - there situation might be different. so it's better to ask a scholar insha Allah.
