I've just been sent this link and wondering what peoples views on this is?

Muslims believe that a Messiah-type figure (Imam Mahdi, or the Mahdi) will appear (or re-appear) at a difficult period of history to restore the faith and ensure the final victory of Islam. We believe that the Messiah is 'Eesa ibn Maryam ('Eesa son of Maryam) and he is the one that will slay the ad-dajjal (anti christ.)

But before 'Eesa (peace be upon him) returns to the earth, the muslim ummah's (nations) leader will be Imam Mahdi, and he will be really pious. But i don't believe that he is the one that will defeat ad-dajjal.

As the world is in utter turmoil today, is there an indication of when this Imam Mahdi, will make an appearance?

There have been quite a few people who have tried to impersonate him, but most have been imposters. The only time we'll find out is when the events that were prophesised by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) will occur, and the imposters have all been caught out because not all the events occured when they labelled themselves the mahdi.
