for the Identity Card i would understand...because the authority will catched them if they found muslims eating during the month of Ramadhan, or doing khalwat, or zina...and will be prosecuted under the islamic law.

For the banking..and others...i'm not really sure. Maybe because we have islamic banking. Some muslims are very sensitive about non-islamic banking or shares, so they don't want to receive flyer or brochure to participate in those kind of bankings.

I never thought at islamic banking but now i rem i read somewhere about this and the american muslim concern to have this banks in states too(for house purposes). We don't have on the Identity card our religion. In fact they cutted even the blood information from the card too.It looks much more simplified in this days.

When I went to Bank Islam or Bank Muamalat, I think 1/3 of the customers are non Muslims (especially Chinese)...

No, i never entered in an islamic bank. I never saw one in my town. I don't know which are the differences between our and an islamic one
