Environmental groups
Both Christianity and Islam view humans to be stewarts of God's world, who should take care of it and protect God's creation.
I understand that Islam particularly treasures nature and all of God's creation.
I am therefore wondering if there are specific Muslim groups, who lobby for the protection of natural habitats, endangered species, the environment as a whole, or anything similar ...?
Thanks.

well, i know a pakistani who has started a yahoo group for conservation issues in pakistan, and last i knew he had quite a few members. i know there are other groups in pakistan who are working for conservation too.
they are facing an enormous task - it is hard to convince hungry people that these things matter. i admire them very much for working on these issues. pakistan has much beautiful land and a rich bio-diversity, and i am glad there are young people who are fighting to protect as much of it as humanly possible.

the place i live in pakistan has a few groups who prserve wildlife and natural habitats
i dont know their name but i do know that they are responsible for the preservation of that huge bog right in the middle of karachi lol - they fought for it cos it has some sort of birds which are not found elsewhere in the country
dont know much about it though
