The Status of Sunnah in Islam - by Shaik Nasiruddin Albanee [PDF]
This is a translation of a booklet titled “Manzilat-us-Sunnah fil-Islaam” (The Status of the Sunnah in Islaam) of Imaam Muhammad Naasir-u-Deen Al-Albaanee, may Allaah have mercy on him. The source for this booklet was a lecture he gave in Doha, Qatar during the month of Ramadaan, 1392H. The talk was later transcribed and published. This book can be downloaded in Arabic at www.sahab.org.
This treatise clarifies the position of the Sunnah in Islaam, in that it bears the same status as the Qur’aan when it comes to deriving religious rulings and laws. So one cannot possibly understand and implement the Qur’aan in the absence of the Sunnah, rather they go hand in hand. Imaam Al-Albaanee gives several examples for this.
The author then goes on to explain what is meant by Sunnah in his discussion, in that it refers to only the authentic Sunnah, and not the weak and fabricated hadeeth. This is a very important treatise, defining a key principle of the Salafi Manhaj, which consists of following the Qur’aan and the Sunnah, along with the understanding of the Salaf (i.e. Sahaabah, Taabi’een, Atbaa’ at-Taabi’een). This treatise is also a refutation of the deviant groups that rely on the Qur’aan alone, such as the Qur’aaniyoon, etc.

Fifteen Points Concerning the Call and the Caller - by Sheikh Ahmad bin Yahya an-Najmi
20 page booklet, softer, Vision Printing, 2001
From the back cover: This short treatise is a lecture by the esteemed sheikh, Ahmed bin Yahyaa an-Najmi given at a panel discussion consisting of various scholars, Callers and others devoted to the spread of Islam. Held in order to council each other in regards to the dawah.
In this age when we are seeing a reawakening of souls, many are eager to propagate this beautiful message of Islam, but unfortunately fall into erro due to lack of knowledge of its methodology. Although this topic is quite extensive, this small talk given by the esteemd Sheikh sheds light on those things that the caller must be qualified with, in order that his dawah be successful, and that more harm does not result rather than benefit. It should be used as a stepping stone for those who truly wish to engage in dawah to Allah.

The treatise by Imam ibn Hanbal, the Imam of the Hanbali school of juristic reasoning, renowned for his steep knowledge, was written several hundred years ago to the inhabitants of a town where the Imam stayed for a period of time. It contains a full and clear description of the prayer and includes detailed observations of the mistakes, which Imam Ahmad observed during his time in that town. It was and remains an invaluable work for all Muslims. Detailing as it does many common errors made during prayers, some of which are serious enough to invalidate the act of worship. Muslim International Law (Kitab al-Siyar al-Saghir)
By Imam Muhammad ibn al-Hasan Ash-Shaybani. Muslim International Law may be defined as: That part of the law and custom of the land and treaty obligations which a Muslim state observes in its dealings. Imam Muhammad ibn al-Hasan Ash-Shabani- was a pupil of Abu Hanifah and heard hadith from Mis'ar ibn Kidam, Sufyan ath-Thawri, 'Amr ibn Dinar, Malik ibn Maghul, Imam Malik ibn Anas (, al-Awza'i, Rabi'ah ibn Salih, Bakir and Qadi Abu Yusuf. He resided in Baghdad and narrated hadith there. He was Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ash-Shaybani His kunya was Abu 'Abdullah. He was born in 132 and died in 189 AH. He was only about eighteen years old when Abu Hanifa died and had not been with him for a long time, but nonetheless he compiled a more complete study of the fiqh of Iraq than Abu Yusuf. He took from ath-Thawri and al-Awza'i, and travelled to Malik and learned the fiqh of hadith, transmissions and the opinions of Malik, after having learned fiqh of opinion from the Iraqis. He stayed with Malik for three years. He was appointed a qadi under ar-Rashid but was never Chief Qadi. He had great skill in letters and so he had both linguistic training and analytic perception. He was concerned with his appearance so that ash-Shafi'i said about him, "Muhammad ibn al-Hasan fills both the eye and the heart." He also mentioned his great eloquence.

Explanation of A Summary of al-‘Aqeedatul-Hamawiyyah of Ibn Taymiyyah
By Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-'Uthaymeen. Allah upholds His religion with His close helpers upon whom He bestows Eemaan, knowledge, and wisdom by which they prevent these enemies. They repel their plot back against their own throats. So no one ever comes out with his innovation except that Allaah – and for this deserves praise and thanks – destines to send someone from Ahlus-Sunnah who refutes and disproves his innovation and extinguishes it. He has many works on the clarification and explanation of the Sunnah, the reinforcement of its pillars, and the destruction of innovations. One of the works on this subject is his “al-Fatwaa al-Hamawiyyah” which he wrote as an answer to a question presented to him in the Hijrah year of 698 from Hamaah, a place in ash-Shaam. In it, he was asked what the scholars and Imaams of the religion say concerning the Aayaat and the Ahaadeeth of the Sifaat, or the attributes and characteristics of Allaah. So he answered in about 83 pages and due to which, he suffered trials and afflictions. May Allaah reward him on behalf of Islaam and the Muslims with the best of rewards. Due to the difficulty in understanding and comprehending this answer from many readers, I wanted to summarize the most important points from it along with some other needed additions. I have named it “Fathu Rabb-il-Bariyyah bi-Talkhees al-Hamawiyyah.”

Provisions for the Hereafter (Zaad Al-Ma'ad)
by Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah. Allah has sent the Messenger (S) with guidance and the Religion of Truth. Strict adherence to the guidance of His Prophet (S) is required from the followers of Islam. The scholars of the Islamic community have attached great importance to it and produced texts regarding the Acts of Worship, Dealings and Habits in the light of the Divine guidance. This book is one of the most famous works written on this subject. This book is one of the important resources of knowledge for those who seek to know the Seerah of their Prophet (PBUH) as well as, the Fiqh learned from it. This is a book that is unique in that it explains the Sunnah through the Seerah and the Seerah through the Sunnah.
