When the Muslims migrated to Madinah, the Prophet saws paired the Muhajireen up with the Ansaar. Who were the following companions paired up with?

Abu Bakr
Salman Al-Farisee
Umar ibn Al-Khattab

Sa'eed ibn Zaid

The flank of the army headed by Khalid bin Walid met resistance at Khandamah where a group of pagans - lead by Safwan ibn Umayyah and Ikrimah ibn Abi Jahl - were determined to attack the Muslims and never accept any peace with them.

There is a difference of opinion among biographers as to how many were killed. Most however say that it was 2 Muslims and 12 pagans. The 2 Muslims were Kurz ibn Jabir and Khunays (or Hubays) ibn Khalid ibn Rabi'ah (Fath al-Bari 4280). Those who said it was three added the name of Salamah ibn Mayla' (Ibn Hisham 4/71).
