They are the companions of the prophet Muhammad (peace Be Upon Him), they are the ones who stood besides the prophet (PBUH) through all the extremely hard times and good...they fought besides him in Jihad, and would compeltely agree with the judgements of the Prophet (PBUH)

The sister also wrote asking who are the (em-bya). I suppose she meant Anbiyaa. These are the Prophets of Allah. If you read the Quran then you will know about their stories.
