Well..i just leave you with get on yours life..
Since you're asking, why don't you test it out urself?Well anecdotal evidence is hardly something to trust. It might work for you but does it work for all faithful believers? Whether or not you're religious, people shouldn't buy into this sufi magical dua stuff. Even many conservative Islamic scholars say this stuff is nonsense and superstitious.
For you to call yourself "deeni" or very religious, you should have already known that as a Muslim everyone is tested, some are weaker than others and ofcoarse external factors will affect them, break through that thin barrier of faith...well anyways gud luck with ur life, cant really say anything else to you, u just dont seem that educated about islam to have been a religious muslim, maybe thats my own judgement allahu a'lem. There are many reasons. Social, Intellectual, Political and Personal. And I never "ran off" from Islam, my faith and conviction was eroded over many years and many experiences..

Nearly every religious Muslim makes that claim almost reflexively against ANYONE who leaves the faith. It's kind of ridiculous and closed-minded that Muslims just can't even consider the fact that people choose their paths out of Islam for very sound and knowledgable reason.
How would it feel if a Christian told you that the only reason you're still Muslim and not a Christian is because you're just ignorant about Jesus? You'd probably be insulted. There are plenty of Muslims that leave Islam quite consiously and knowledgably, so please stop with the "he must not have been a real muslim" line.
well no doubt they are right now? anyways this thread isn't against you but its about duas to acquire good memory so back to topic??"he must not have been a real muslim"well
dear brothers & sisters... our prophet said :
من عمل عملا ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد
So no one alive has the right to put Duas & fix numbers of times to be said ..
this is what is named bed'a...
لا عبادة بدون دليل
whenever you worship allah in a new way without dalil this is what is named bed'aa
instead of this dau we can just ask allah in our simple weak words & inshaAllah this will work
becasue allah said:
أمن يجيب المضطر إذا دعاه
Allah knows best
w salam alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Can we please keep on-topic inshallah.
On the subject of good memory, it depends on the person. In terms of hifdh of the qur'an - i did in 9 months flat alhamdulillah
bro the topic on aqquiring good memory, not how long it took you to memorise the quran
so please everyone stay on topic and benefit from others inshallah
Sorry, i just thought i'd put that in
i say two tihngs for good memory and knowledge:
rabbish rahli swadri wa yasirli amri wahlul ukdatam milli sani yafkahu kawli
rabbi zidni ilma
yes, they are two very good du'as. I also use them. I think they work better than when you repeat an ayah of the qur'an over and over again. I dont see this as du'a. The reason for this is that if you are constantly repeating an ayah of the qur'an, your mind will not be on the du'a but on how many more times you have to repeat the ayah. This will lead to just saying the ayah without real conviction in the heart.
i sometimes use allahumma rabbi inni maghlooban fantasir
I think you mean compromise ........and also there are surahs which you read on thursday night followed by a lenghty dua look in the back of a south african quraan ..I used to do this regularly helped loads!!
