No. 4012 - Narrated Umm Salamah radhiyallaahu 'anhaa:


The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam came to me while there was an effeminate man sitting with me, and I heard him (i.e. the effeminate man) saying to 'Abdullaah bin Abi Umaiya, "O 'Abdullah! See if Allaah should make you conquer Ta'if tomorrow, then take the daughter of Ghailan (in marriage) as (she is so beautiful and fat that) she shows four folds of flesh when facing you, and eight when she turns her back." The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam then said, "These (effeminate men) should never enter upon you (O women!)." Ibn Juraij radhiyallaahu 'anhu said, "That effeminate man was called Hit."

No. 5506 - Narrated Ibn 'Abbaas radhiyallaahu 'anhu:

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam cursed effeminate men (those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners of women) and those women who assume the manners of men, and he said, "Turn them out of your houses." The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam turned out such-and-such man, and 'Umar radhiyallaahu 'anhu turned out such-and-such woman

Was this effeminate man calling Ghailan fat or something? 'Four folds of flesh'? Flipping heck.

Also, does 'effeminate men' include 'metrosexuals'? They're not gay, but kind of like Beckham in their obsession with their appearance.

Sorry I don't have the shar nor the takreej of this hadeeth. But does it include the gay. Yes it does. There are men that are effeminate in nature but not gay. They still like women. I knew some of these types back before I was Muslim. But how much more then the gay man. Isn't he more than just effeminate if he finds attraction in a man??? By Allah this man is worse than justthe effeminate. He is cursed!!!

As to what was done withthis man.... The hadeeth does not specify. So nor shall I. Far be it by me to speak on what I have no knowledge of. If anyone has access to the shar of this hadeeth, then please by all means bring it.

Ok, I got a computer teacher who acts, like a girl, lol... He's married and all, but you can't help but get the feeling that he's a little too feminine for his own good... He wears tight clothes and well basically just talks like one too... There's nothing wrong with having a teacher like that is there?

The scary thing: She goes to an islamic schoool....

Anyway, Im not sure, but do you think this hadeeth also means we shouldnt be hanging around with girls...

Well, technically, you shouldn't be anyways, but the prophet (SAW) was talking about a dude, not a dudette...

SALAMZ

When the hadith says that women should not act like men, does that mean they cannot wear trouses? Because alot of women dispute about this, as some women say some trousers are for women not men. I guess this also questions the modesty of wearing trousers, since you can kinda tell the figure of a woman when she wears trousers. Sorry if i'm kinda going off the topic here. But I always wondered about that (I don't wear trousers and i'm not intending to either just in case u were wondering ). :coolsis: Ok salaam to all.... :rose:
