Do you mean to say because is a silent (i.e one is not meant to read the Quran out loud) Salaah, you cannot concentrate, therefore you're asking if you can read out loud, to have concentration??

stay silent and just concentrate on the fact that allah watches us all the time and obeying the command of allah is the height of concentration

Aheam sister

Let me understand your question:

You mean eg when you're praying Salaatul-Fajr (in which you recite the Quran out lound) if you could read the Quran silently like that of salaatul 'asr?

salaams,
uve got it sister , just that , uve put it vice versa ...
its that during asr , when the imam does not recite the quran aloud ....

then what is the ruling ??

- do we have to just stay silent
- or can we recite our own surahs in our mind .?

jazakallah brother , inshallah , ill try my best !
