dear sister syilla , you are correct in saying that the people int the north of Mekkah pray towards the Kaabah. however that contradicts the unity theory everyone has been posting up. they said facing the east makes unity but the north Mekkans don't face east, they face south. therefore there os a flaw in the unity replies.
however i believe i have the answer to the question which started this thread: the world is not a perfect sphere, it is a 3D ellpise, meaning that it is actually not a perfect sphere. thus the Kabah is positioned in such a way that everyone faces it via the shortest distance possible. this clears the reason why the north meccans pray south instead of east.

the question first posted was actually flawed as a thought.
