Salams,

Like the thread sister.. Jazakhallah for it. I have to admit, I watch more tv than I should

just to get away for a little while from the hectic life. But Ramadhan is coming up real soon, and I've made a promise that i'll cut out tv. Those tips will help me out i guess so jazakhallah again

You can skim through what's going to be on the next day, if it's something benefitting you can watch, News are nice and when the program is over, shut it down. It's about will-power. I stopped going on the internet as much recently, and a found a very good change in myself. But as soon as I went back on it, I slipped all the way back. Coincidence? I think not!

Mostly all I watch on tv is sports (espn) especially basketball. There is no haram (I think) in this, but it takes your time up, I gain nothing by watching this.

this is an amazing article. its just ironic how I stumbled on this... because i have been trying not to watch television and it has been going on for a few months now. And its not that easy when your whole entire family watches it and you watched it for family bonding, but its for allah. It's just hard when you have sin everywhere around you especially in america, People find new ways to do sin, it's the work of the evil cursed one... but as long as I have my lord im sure i'll be fine. thanks for posting this. may allah reward you

i havnt read all of this, but i agree with what ive read so far. especially the part ive quoted, and that to me isnt exclusive to tv...just anything which takes up alot of your time.

i grew up with out a tv, and i must say, it was a total blessing!
