I fail to see the humour in an article detailing serious economic losses resulting from the death of one of the country's biggest benefactors.

Even if we didn't like King Fahd, I don't think it's right to laugh at him or his spending, seeing as he's, oh I don't know... DEAD.

But that's just me and my old-fashioned 'you know, you really shouldn't speak ill of the dead unless it's Hitler or Stalin, because one's got a funny moustache and the other reminds me of Saddam' attidude.

Your general point is correct. But lets face it. Saudi Arabia (which is supposed to be the leader of Muslim countries) is in a real mess. I mean, $200million spent remodelling the Marbella palace in 2002, is PHENOMENAL. Muslims have been in deep sleep for far too long. We can't just continue ignoring the "misdeeds" (or serious theivery) of our rulers. While the world is progressing with all sorts of technological advances, Muslim rulers are busy using the massive oil wealth to build palaces for their luxury.

PS: I was not laughing at Fahd's death. I wouldn't do that. It was the fact that the Spanish resort of Marbella felt that his death would affect their economy.

people have short memories

at the time when saddam (who the major scholars have declared an apostate) invaded kuwait and was about to invade saudi, so the ulema like shakh abdul azeez ibn baaz found proof that it was permissable to seek help from the kuffar to prevent saddam invading saudi like he invaded kuwait.

if they had not sought help from USA then there would have been disaster in saudi.

The Pharoah of our era - who died as an apostate. May he be resurrected with those who took as his allies ie. the Kuffaar.

Ya akhee, I want you to re read your post, you made takfeer of your muslim brothers.

I have stressed this before and it is a very serious issue Hashim, we will questioned as to who we made takfeer of, we wont be questioned about who we did not make takfeer of.

Please bare this in mind, barakallah feek.

In Islamic law, the term takfir or takfeer refers to the practice of declaring that an individual or a group previously considered Muslims are in fact kafir(s) (non-believers in God). The act which precipitates takfir is termed the mukaffir.
