I am not suggesting it (at lease not in this thread). I am just saying the reporter likely felt that inclusion of a comment about raising an Islamic flag on government buildings (even though it was meant to be purely rhetorical) might be perceived as provocative and at odds with her purpose.

It is an exercise in "diplomacy" and understanding how the other party may feel.

The whole point was one shouldnt expect a Muslim to put a country flag on a Mosque. I didnt see anything wrong with it really...
If your(generally speaking) going to tell someone to do somethin like that, then you should at least expect a similar answer, get me?

Peace

Yes. I understand the sentiment, but my point is it might be best not to express it in that fashion to the reporter whom you hope will be writing a positive story about Islam when the going complaint seems to be that the media always portrays Muslims in a negative light. Sometimes it is best to remain silent.

It's like the old joke. A football team travels to another town for a game. A local woman's group puts on a dance in their honor. The coach is concerned his players are not sophisticated socially so he tells them to "get out and dance and say something nice to the girl you are dancing with!"

One player is dancing awkwardly with a sturdily built young woman. Remembering the coach's warning he offers,......"Gee, you don't sweat very much for a fat gil."

Look at the types of responses Sidi Afroz is recieving :

Quote:
Afroz,

I met you at the Interfaith last Friday evening with the Catalyst for Renewal. your responses to the many questions definitely ansered much of my confusion and questions. Then I woke up on Saturday morning and saw you in the papers (Sydney Morning Herald- i'm sure you are aware of the feature in the paper). I took a trip at your advice to the auburn mosques and was taken completely by a sense of peace.

Thank you, God for bringing you to me! See you tonight for the Testification- can't wait to be a Muslim!

Regards
Mark
And also, on the SMH ( Sunday Morning Herald ) Website, non-muslims can have their questions answered by Dr.Zack Matthews

And also,... More articles were printed today...

Symbol of faith rests on their shoulders

Looking beyond the veil
