The places where people struggle genuinely for Allah's sake despite the risks are often the best places to find righteous and truthful people - also the places which are under attack by awliyaa of shaytuaan are the plaves where you'll find the worst of co-intel pro munaafiqeen and kuffaar.
But the fitnah of widespread haraam and spiritual decadence is worse than the fitnah of death. At least the places of jihaad in Allah's path, the separation of imaan and kufr is wide.

Jazakallah khair for your concern, but I will put my trust in Allah. I am not going to stop pursuing my attainment of knowledge in Islam due to a little fighting but jazakallah nonetheless

Only the true followers plunge themselves into a place of constant fighting?

Apparently, I'm not a follower then.

    Kthanks

Of course not but it is the courage which is needed to go "a place of constant fighting" to study and that is something must be appriciated since this constant fighting is unjust and by that way you show your position with the oppresseds..

There are other places to seek knowledge.

    One must ask,

Is someone going there to study choosing a place that is incredibly oppressed and dangerous to have a public perception of being more "tested" than those who choose to study in places that are safe? I.E., are they going there for the education, out of sincerity? or for the fact that going to these places is seen more worthy than choosing to study elsewhere?

    What's the intention?

    Is it knowledge?

Or is it knowledge with admiration?

Intentions change from person to person. I assume the OP's intention is to learn knowledge. If that's the case we must only appriciate his courage. I assume he just thinks that there are really specialised Islamic schools over there than you can find elsewhere. We can't blame you for thinking it is dangerous but by discouraging him you somehow approve the oppression going on there.

I don't approve the oppression. But it's a very bad political situation to go over there to gain Islamic knowledge without the realization of everything that's going around. In most scenarios, depending on his nationality he might actually not be allowed to go into Yemen and might be QUESTIONED, his family might be questioned about the reasons he is going into Yemen. Why bring the unnecessary hardship to his family? to himself?

I don't understand his mentality, go to Egypt! There are tons of schools in Egypt to gain knowledge. Why jump into a burning oven? To prove yourself?

    Assalamu Alaikum,

Bro, I don't think anyone here would have any contacts. However, if you are truly serious about doing this, then I suggest you look through travel blogs where people have traveled to yemen, and perhaps reach out to yemeni nationals living in your area to get more information about the country. The country is not in the best shape at the moment, and I'd go against visiting until you figure out your destination and have an actual plan when you get there. I'm sure there are areas which are safe and the people there are very hospitable, but it's all about having access to those places and good people to help you along the way.

Here's a blog that may be helpful, though it is a few years old:

    http://www.wanderingearl.com/why-i-t...r-my-vacation/

With all of that being said, you can always try applying to Islamic schools in other countries like KSA. I'm assuming you have a family who care about you, so try to be safe inshallah

Re: any help would be appreciated, jazakllah (concerning studying in yemen)

One thing I know about the people of Yemen is that they are generally wise, faithful, humble, and also of warrior caliber, the country in which I currently reside was liberated from oppression by Allah through shah jalal ad-deen al yemeni and his followers, the people of yemen were also commended by the Prophet for their faith, they also provided strong support to the khulafaa ar-raashideen, they would be amongst the first to accept every renewed call to monotheism after stagnation and descent into shirk, and we all know of the wise queen during the time of sulaiman , they were also very good at halaal community projects such as water resource management which required sacrifice and unity, and the current oppressive situation by enemies of Allah is hardly to be blamed on a single nation.

These people have been inheriting sound judgement and high intellect for a very long time.

Apparently they did once jump into the trenches to prove themselves to Allah after accepting the call before that of the final messenger (search: najran dhu nuwas).

They are reported to have come rushing to become aqcuainted with Allah's messenger when they heard of his call and were even allowed to pray in the mosque, although some of them were cautious and took their time (and Allah knows best about their sincerity, Uwais al Qarni and his tribe were also from there.

Abu Musa ashari's mosque where some of the earliest Qurans were found is also located in Yemen, and these people have scholarship and accumulated knowledge of deencwhich has been passed down through generations and you can expect to feel it in the vibes - if you find the right people inshaAllah.

I pray that you find success in your search for truth, and please also pray for me.
