Walaykum assalam sister, I think it depends about the reason that makes you doubt! Could you be more specific? In any case I would suggest to redo it just to be sure!!

    Re: Doubts about wudu?

The Prophet said "When one of you senses something in his stomach and is confused whether or not something exited, then let him not leave the masjid until he hears a noise or smells an odour."

If you are certain that you have broken your wudu by, for example, passing wind, and you know it is wind because of the smell or sound, then you have to repeat it. But sometimes we hear sounds in our stomach - that does not invalidate wudu unless there is a smell or sound. Sometimes, this can be the waswas of the Shaytaan trying to distract you during your prayers, so we shouldn't worry too much about it.

    Asalaamualaykum.

I can only give you the answer in the Hanafi Madhab.

In the Hanafi madhab the certainty of having wudu precedes the uncertainty of not having it.

What this means simply is this:

You can 100% remember your last wudu BUT you not 100% sure if your broke that wudu - in this case your wudu is STILL intact and valid.

In other words you have to 100% sure that you broke the previous wudu to make wudu again.

You have to understand this ruling in context. It does not in anyway nullify remaking wudu OR making wudu on wudu as they have their virtues in its own regard. What this ruling is allowing for is the simplicity of retaining wudu.

Many people get shocked trying to understand this ruling. If the Islamic position was that you ALWAYS make wudu before Salaah, then in turn illustrious Ulema wouldn't have entertained writing books on just the position of Sleeping to whether it breaks wudu or not, the ruling would just simply be remake it.

The reason they go in-depth about the technicality of what breaks wudu is because of the ruling that I have stated, that the certainty of having wudu precedes the doubt of breaking it.

The answer is a definite YES. IF you don't remember whether or not you have broken your wudu, then it is wajab on you to redo it because there is no room for doubts when the question is about prayer and worship.

It also depends on the % doubt on which side you are inclined towards if there are not clear proofs of sound and smell.

Shaitan's waswas also plays much part here to make a Believer become unrestful so that he does not concentrate on his salah, At sometime he will put to doubts again even after you did wudu , whispering in your minds was this part was dry ?? and not a valid wudu and so on.

    Re: Doubts about wudu?

Unless we can back it up by proof, we should not make statements regarding religious matters.

If a Muslim does wudoo’, this wudoo' cannot be ruled invalid unless there is certainty that what invalidates wudoo' has occurred. Mere uncertainty -- even if this uncertainty is strong – does not mean that wudoo' is invalidated.

If a Muslim does wudoo’, this wudoo' cannot be ruled invalid unless there is certainty that what invalidates wudoo' has occurred. Mere uncertainty -- even if this uncertainty is strong – does not mean that wudoo' is invalidated.

This hadeeth is one of the basic matters of Islam and an important principle of fiqh, which is that things are ruled to remain as is until there is certainty to the contrary, and mere doubt does not affect them. An example of that is the issue in the chapter in which this hadeeth is narrated, namely: If a person is certain that he is in a state of purity and is uncertain as to whether it has been broken, then he is regarded as still being in a state of purity, and it makes no difference whether this uncertainty arises during the prayer or outside of prayer. This is our opinion and the opinion of the majority of scholars, both earlier and later.

There is no difference between a case where his uncertainty is fifty-fifty and a case where he thinks that one or the other is more likely. He does not have to do wudoo' in either case.

So unless you are sure it is broken, it is not.
