    Pornography

    Report bad ads?

Assalamualiekum everyone. I hope this finds everyone in the best of their Imaan.

alhamduilillah I am a muslim and pray 5x times a day, but since last year, I dont know what happened, and i from somewhere developed a pleasure in masturbating and pornography. I tried hard and repented many times and tried to stop but i could only control myself for a month at the latest. then i left my house and went to my aunt's house for 1.5 months . there I had stopped all these and alhamduillah, i have stopped masturbating. But i cant leave pornography. I have stopped searching on the Internet for "that" kind of images, but still the women on reads attract me very much. they wear tight and small clothes and some of them are even see-through. And the advertisements showing all sorts of women in the 'fasionable' small tight clothes. Even the papers have "ramzan special offer" and a partly nude lady !! There is a "religious suppliment" with all sorts of these advertisements on the first and last pages and deen articles inside!... Please help me Allah will bless you all also.

    Re: Pornography

    Masturbation: An Islamic Perspective[1]

By Dr. Muhammad al – Jibaaly[2]

Alhamdulilah. Indeed, all praise is due to Allaah. We praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allaah from our souls’ evil and our wrong doings. He whom Allaah guides, no one can misguide; and he whom He misguides, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no (true) God except Allah – alone without a partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His ‘Abd (servant) and messenger

    A. Ruling

Masturbation is the stimulation of one’s sexual organs using one’s hand or any external tool for this purpose. Stimulation of one’s sexual organs by one’s spouse normally comes under ‘fondling and foreplay’ rather than masturbation.

Masturbation is prohibited for both men and women. Allah, the Most High says,

“And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors;”
    [3]

In the above, Allaah does not allow venting one’s sexual desire except with one’s spouse or with one’s owned female slave (for men). For those who cannot afford marriage, Allaah does not give them masturbation as an option; rather. He commands them to maintain chastity:

“And let those who find not the financial means for marriage keep themselves chaste, until Allâh enriches them of His Bounty…”
    [4]

Also, the Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded the young people to marry, and advised those who cannot afford it to fast in order to control their sexual desire. Masturbation was never an alternative.

Narrated ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ood (may Allah be pleased with him): We were with the Prophet while we were young and had no wealth whatever. So Allah's Apostle said,"O young people! Whoever among you can marry, should marry, because it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty (i.e. his private parts from committing illegal sexual intercourse etc.), and whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual power.”[5]

    B. Causes

Even though masturbation is an abnormal and ugly act, it is widely practiced in our time. This has many reasons, among which are the following:

    1. Weak commitment to Islaam. The sexual desire can only be restrained by strong faith, perseverance for the pleasure of Allaah, and fearing Allaah.

    2. Delaying marriage for no Shari’ee[6] reasons, such as requiring high dowries or using criteria for marriage other than that established in the Sunnah.[7]

    3. Using artificial means for sexual arousal, such as watching provocative movies, looking at provocative pictures, reading provocative stories, listening to provocative talk and music, and going to places where the ‘Awrahs[8] of people are exposed (beaches, nightclubs, etc).

    4. Listening to disbelievers’ arguments. Many Western behavioural and so – called social scientists, such as Freud, declare that masturbation is perfectly acceptable and has no harmful effects. Those ‘scientists’ have similar approaches with other sexual aberrations. Their misconceptions have poisoned the thoughts of most people in our time, have given them a deviant understanding of many aspects of human sexuality, and have made sexual aberrations – even the extreme ones, like homosexuality – acceptable by many people.

    5. Unsubstantiated misconceptions that are mostly based on the wrong opinions of the above – mentioned ‘scientists’. Among those misconceptions are the following:

    a. Abstinence causes the sexual organs to shrink and lose their functionality. This is not true and has no scientific basis.

    b. Abstinence causes continual arousal of the sexual organs. This is false, and the contrary is true. It is scientifically demonstrated that repeated performance of sexual acts causes excessive and continual arousal o the sexual system, which also results in weakening one’s will – power and determination. Abstinence, on the other hand, helps cool the desire – provided that one brushes off illicit thoughts and fantasies.

    c. Abstinence leads to a loss or decline in the body’s production of the seminal fluid. Again, the opposite is true. Excessive sexual involvement and induced ejaculation cause an early decline in seminal production. On the other hand, if the body finds excess of seminal production because of abstinence, it is naturally eliminated after urination or through wet dreams.

    6. Accepting false arguments from some ‘Islaamic’ scholars who permit masturbation claiming that it protects against the greater sin of Zinaa[9]. The short – sightedness of such ‘scholars’ prevents them from realising that:

    a. Masturbation is clearly prohibited by the texts of the Qur’aan and Sunnah (see above), and there is consensus among the prominent ‘ulamaa’[10] of Islaam in this regard.

    b. Masturbation has many harms, some of which are comparable to Zinaa (see above).

    c. Masturbation is one of the important incentives for Zinaa. When one is a willing slave and prisoner of his lust, he becomes ready to fulfil it by any means, permissible or prohibited. Thus, Zinaa becomes a feasible alternative that would seriously be considered if the occasion presents itself.

    C. Harms

In addition to what has been indicated above, masturbation has many other harms, among which are the following:

    1. Harm to the deen[11]. Masturbation is a sin that puts a barrier between the ‘abd[12] and his Lord, reducing the love of Allaah in his heart and making sinning acceptable to him.

    2. Harm to the character. Masturbation weakens one’s determination, reduces one’s opposition to sinning, and causes one a loss of self – esteem.

    3. Harm to the pure nature (fitrah[13]). Masturbation is an addictive practice that makes one derive pleasure only through it. This makes it difficult for one to enjoy the permissible and correct method of venting one’s desire: marriage

    D. Protection and Cure

In what follows we outline some of the important means of protection against masturbation:

    1. Fearing and revering Allaah at all times

    2. Getting married as early as possible.

    3. Keeping company of the righteous believers and avoiding solitude or company of the sinful.

    4. Lowering the gaze and avoiding looking as what Allah has prohibited.[14]

    5. Keep busy with acts of obedience.

    6. Understanding the danger of the wrong views about masturbation (as explained above).

    7. Fasting as often as possible.

    8. Following the etiquettes for sleep (sleeping early, sleeping with Wudoo’[15], saying the Thikrs and supplications on the right side, etc).

    9. Striving patiently to obey Allaah and avoid sinning, remembering the high rewards that Allaah promised for the patient.

    10. Repenting to Allaah and doing much good in order to overcome the evil thoughts and actions that one does.

And It is Only Allah Who grants success. May Allah Exalt the mention of His slave and Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him), and render him, his household and companion safe from Evil

    Re: Pornography

    Advice to Overcome Porn Addiction

    Question

Dear Sheikh! Our young people (may Allah grant them guidance) sometimes abuse the Internet by browsing the porn websites wasting time and effort and even disobeying Allah. What is your advice to those teenagers and others?

    Answer

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

Dear questioner! Thank you for this question, which reflects a true desire to get knowledge about Islam and its guidance that leads to happiness and peace of mind.

In the first place, it is to be noted that logging in and browsing pornographic sites is forbidden because a Muslim is always commanded to lower his/her gaze, let alone give a loose rein to his/her hungry eye to look at the private parts of others. More importantly, such acts cause psychological and social injury. Besides, many people in general, and teenagers in particular, waste their lives and times doing things which Allah forbade them to do. A Muslim is always commanded to spend his time in useful things, cherish what benefits him in the present, plan for his coming days, and always make the reward of the Hereafter his/her top priority.

The prominent Muslim scholar Sheikh Ahmad ibn Hamad Al-Khalili, the Grand Mufti of Oman states the following:

First of all, my advice to those young people is that they should fear Almighty Allah regarding their life and youthfulness. They are to bear in mind that they will be reckoned for these two and will be questioned what they have done with them. The Hadith says: "The feet of a son of Adam will not be removed (meaning he will be standing for reckoning until he is asked about the following five), unless he is questioned about five things: his life and how he has spent it, his youth time and how he managed it, his wealth from where and how it has been spent, and his actions how close or far they are from his knowledge."

Man will be questioned about his life since it is the greatest Divine gift. Those, however, waste their life browsing these porn sites and thus spoil the greatest Divine blessing given to them, namely life. Man is granted this life not to spend it in quest for lusts and desires of the flesh, but to utilize it for the life of eternity, the Hereafter. In that eternal life everything is blessed, no poverty is there, no sickness, no senility. That eternal life is only for those who lead this life in straightness, uprightness and conformity with the laws of Allah.

Let those young people, then, fear Allah regarding their youth. Youth is not a time for play or whimsical actions; rather, it is the time for fruitful work and action, ambition and perfection.

The youth have always been the indicator of progress or decline of every nation or people. The more they stick to the dictates of virtue and uprightness, the greater their nation will become. The more they fall in the den of vice, the lower their nation will go. Thus, we have the necessity for right and moral upbringing of the youth.

I advise all those young people to consider the value of their lives and stop wasting it in trivialities. They should bear in mind that death may overtake them all of a sudden. All people are like prisoners in a cell waiting for their execution. No one knows when, but they should prepare themselves for it. Almighty Allah says: "Every soul shall taste death." (Al `Imran: 185)"

The following working steps to fight porn addiction are for all, no matter their age:

    Step One:
Admit that you can't give up.

Admit that you are unable to get a grip on your consumption of pornography. It is uncontrollable. Every time you turn on the internet, go to the video store, turn on the television, you cannot say NO to yourself. You cannot NOT surf porn sites, or stop watching. You are no longer in control of your life.

    Step Two:
Admit that only Allah can get you out of this.

You know, after trying through so many ways to control your addiction and subsequently failing, that only Allah can help you out of this. You may have known it before, but you are convinced of it now without a shadow of a doubt.

    Step Three:
Your life and death are all in Allah's control.

Decide to put your complete trust in Allah, Who is in control of all aspects of your life and your death, and to bring this problem to Him and seek His help first and foremost.

    Step Four:
    Do a self-analysis.

Do an honest, sincere, but often painful self-evaluation of your good points, bad points, and analyze your addiction, trying to understand how you reached this point.

    Step Five:
Make a specific repentance to Allah.

Admit to Allah and to yourself and to another trusted Muslim (if possible) exactly where you went wrong. Do not make a general request for repentance. Specifically list your mistakes and, in particular, your addiction to pornography.

    Step Six:
Be open and ready to receive Allah's help to change.

You know your sincere repentance must be followed by action. Be ready to do what is necessary to change, no matter how difficult or painful, even if it means not even watching television for the news or never surfing the Internet alone.

    Step Seven:
Ask for the removal of faults.

Ask Allah with sincerity, humility and regret to help you never repeat this action (looking at pornography) again and to help you avoid repeating sins committed in the past.

    Step Eight:
    Do a nightly self-evaluation.

Every night do an honest self-evaluation of your behavior and be ready to admit your mistakes and thank Allah for the good you did that day.

Step Nine: Make lots of du`a’ (supplication) and try to increase your taqwa (fear of Allah).

Continue to pray five times a day, seeking closeness to Allah. Seek to be consciousness of Him wherever you are. Increase your reliance on Him to help you with this addiction to pornography and with all other matters in your life.

    Step Ten:
    Preach and practice.

Don’t just "move on" after Allah has blessed you to get out of this addiction. Help others you know with this problem through regular contact and sincere advice, respecting the etiquette of enjoining the good and forbidding the evil. By the grace of Allah, helping others will help you maintain control over your addiction, and you will help another Muslim or another human being to get out of this destruction and misery.

    Re: Pornography

porn makes me really sad.. imagine you're looking at an unfortunate human being, who has to reduce herself and entire life to animal activities, to be liked or to make money, how low are they and how low they must feel..
It is very disheartening, and I really can't imagine anyone attaining pleasure from that..

my two cents, might might not be a religious advise , but it is the honest truth.. porn should make everyone equally sad when they look at those pitiful creatures, stripped of their dignity and humanity!

    Re: Pornography

the prophet (saw) had urged people to marry when they had well reached puberty subhanAllah

if everybody did this, masturbation would not even be an issue. one can not simply control these urges..

they need to marry especially those people with a higher sex drive which are mostly men.. they are going to masturbate of course they are. there is fitnah everywhere.. not only on the internet

there was fitnah back in the time of the prophet (saw)

if you get turned on by the slightest image of a girl on the internet brother then you really need to look for a wife and look fast or you might not be ever able to stop this perverted sin

this addiction will grow believe me and it will do so much damage to your imaan.

Asaalamu Alaikum wr wb, jazakallah for sharing your problem although it is not easy to share something like this however it is a problem that plagues a lot of people thats including both men and women.

Brother im sure you heard of the saying an idle mind is the devils playground. Meaning that don't sit around because in life theres SO much to do. You should be making the best of your free time either by reading the Qur'an in English and Arabic, Learning Sura's and dua's. Reading Islamic books which are so interesting. Doing Zikr. Doing household chores or homwork. You have to ALWAYS keep yourself busy brother no matter what. If your ALWAYS busy doing things then that will not give you the opportunity to think about masterbating.

You should always strive to pray at the Masjid as much as you can and do as much dhikr and ibaadat as you can because if your worshipping and thinking of Allah then there is less chance of your mind straying into thinking of other things.

Also my brother you HAVE to try your best NOT to look at women and avoid reading mainstream newspapers, magazines, and only go if absolutley necessery to high streets, shopping centres or wherever else there is a lot of women to be seen. If your eyes see less women then there is less chance that your mind will stray into thinking of sexual thoughts.

Another big factor is what you eat. Islam has prescribed fasting for the people who are not yet married. Some people have said even though they fast it does'nt help them. Thats because when those people break their fast they over indulge and overfill themselves which is against the whole point of fasting which is to reduce what you eat at all times not just in the day. So fast even after Ramadham every Monday and Thursdays because it is a sunnah and eat just about enough to satisfy your stomach on iftaar and sehri do not over eat and that also goes for on normal days do not over eat and cut down how much meat you eat because thats a big factor in producing semen. Eat just to to satisfy not to over fill and you will notice a big difference not only in energy levels but you won't get as much feeling to want to masterbate.

Try to sleep early if your not doing anything important at night. When you do sleep then sleep on your side and not on your front or stomach. Try to go to the gym aswell and tire yourself at so you get straight to sleep every night. Learn the duas before sleep and learn duas for everything you do throughout the day because then your mind will be on your lord rather than go stray elsewhere.

Also brother marrige is prescribed to us to get married sooner rather than later. Marrige would certainly stop you from self indulging and you should try to get married as soon as you can. Even if you say you are not financially ready but what you have to realise is that your partner will also have her rizq and Allah provides so you should do nikah as quickly as possible and not delay it anymore because it is FARD for you!

Its not easy to give up a long term habit such as masterbation but it can be done if the points are followed properly. Allah knows you want to give up and he is willing to help you but you have got to help yourself. Allah helps those who help themselves! It is not easy but it is all in the head and you have to internalise that you REALLY want this out of your life once and for all.

Its your inner desires, your innerself that you have to battle with and you can conquere it but you have to give it your all and follow the steps carefully and ALWAYS give yourself busy with ibaadat and good actions. Always think to yourself that i am NEVER alone for Allah is watching me. So then will you not feel ashamed by masterbating when you know Allah is aware? We have to always think that Allah is watching us no matter what we do and that would prevent us from doing a lot of wrong inshallah. But brother no matter what you do marrige is fard on you so marry as soon as you can.
    Here are:
12 Tips to Help Brothers and Sisters Control the Evil Habit of Masterbation

    1. Never touch the intimate parts of your body except during normal toilet processes. Even if you get tempted, just think of Allah and the Prophet (Saw) and that Allah is wathcing you at all times and this urge will go away.

    2. Avoid being alone as much as possible. Shaythan plays with the minds of those who sit around idle and not doing anything. Find good company and stay in this good company. Spend time with your family and close ones(Not Non mahrams) Find good company and stay in this good company. The best company are those who lead you towards good and not those who lead you in the wrong direction. Don't hang around with those girls who talk about sexual things and boys etc.

    3. If you are associated with other persons having this same problem, you must break off their friendship. Never associate with other people having the same weakness. Don't suppose that two of you will quit together, you never will. You must get away from people of that kind. Just to be in their presence will keep your problem foremost in your mind. The problem must be taken out of your mind for that is where it really exists. Your mind must be on other and more wholesome things.

    4. When you bathe, do not admire yourself in a mirror. Never stay in the bath more than five or six minutes -- just long enough to bathe and dry and dress and then get out of the bathroom as soon as possible because we are advised in the sunnah not to delay getting changed after a bath. We should dry ourselves and get into doing an act of worship.

    5. When in bed, if that is where you have your problem for the most part, dress yourself for the night so securely that you cannot easily touch your vital parts, and so that it would be difficult and time consuming for you to remove those clothes. By the time you started to remove protective clothing you would have sufficiently controlled your thinking that the temptation would leave you. Sleep on your sides and NOT on your front or back. It is forbidden to sleep on your stomach and it is sunnah to sleep on your right side. Do dua's and Zikr until you fall asleep.

    6. If the temptation seems overpowering while you are in bed, get out of bed and go into the kitchen and fix yourself a snack, even if it is in the middle of the night, and even if you are not hungry, and despite your fears of gaining weight. The purpose behind this suggestion is that you get your mind on something else. You are the subject of your thoughts, so to speak. If these thoughts come to you in the middle of the night then go and do wudu and pray Tahajjud and make much dua and cry in your dua's of Allah to increase you in imaan (Faith) and to help you resist your desires and to help you get married ASAP.

    7. Find out when are your weakest times when your most likely to masterbate or touch yourself. When you have established on what times and occassions this occurs then you can plan what to do to avoid feeling temptations on thos particular occassions.

    8. Never read pornographic material especially on the internet as these images will be stored in your head and it will make your problem worse. Try to keep your gaze low at all times. Never read about your problem. Keep it out of mind. Remember -- "First a thought, then an act." The thought pattern must be changed. You must not allow this problem to remain in your mind. When you accomplish that, you soon will be free of the act inshallah.

    9. Put wholesome thoughts into your mind at all times. Read good Islamic books, the life of the Prophet(Saw) and his seerah, the life after death. There SO many interesting topics to read and learn about. Make a daily habit of reading at least one juz(Chapter) of Qur'an with its meanings.
Reading the Qur'an everyday with its meanings will bring countless blessings and rewards and bring you closer to Allah as well as keep you busy and occupied therefore keeping your mind off this problem.

    10. Make much dua. But when you make dua don't just make dua about this problem, for that will tend to keep it in your mind more than ever. Make dua for increase of your iman(faith), Make dua for understanding of the Islam and the Qur'an, Make dua for your family and ALL Muslims especially the ones that are being oprressed, Pray for the sick and that we all unite as one. keep the problem out of your mind by not mentioning it ever --not in conversation with others, not inso much in your dua's. keep it out of your mind because if you keep mentioning it then it will stay in your mind!

    11. Fast. You may have tried it before and it did'nt work but how can it work if we don't change our eating habits? If we eat little just to satisfy our stomachs then our fasting will be effective and restrict our sexual urges and capability's. But if we carry on over eating after our fasts then that food will impact on the stomach which will impact on our desires. So restrict the amount you eat before and after fasting and you will feel the benefits of fasting to stop your urges.

    12. Finally the best solution of all- GET MARRIED. Give some urgency to your family about the need for you to get married sooner rather than later. Tell them of the benefits of getting married early and that it is a sunnah as the Prophet (Saw) recommended it as it will help avoid haraam(Forbidden) relations with non mahrams and getting married early will help eradicate this problem and mean that one can indulge in their sexual urges and desires legitamatley as well as recieve reward for it. The main reason why there is so many haraam relations out there is for the fact that our families are not getting their children married early enough as the Prophet (Saw) advised.

    Re: Pornography

Pornography is more addictive then crack cocaine and its a proven fact. It alters chemicals in your brain, It messes with your mind, it plays with your emotions and wreck your mind, heart, body and soul. Replay this in your mind several times and UNDERSTAND what this means.

The people who do these sick acts, especially the women are abused, and when i mean abused i mean mentally and physically. Ive read articles by people who were in the industry and have now left it. They expose the truth about this sick, heart crushing disease, They talk about how these disgusting pimps treat them and how this industry has ruined their lives. On camera it may look all glamorous, Astaghfirullah! but we do not know what happens off it. These women are treated like piles of rubbish, like scrap metal, Used, abused then thrown away. Beaten, forced to do things they do not want to do and in some cases, Killed. Understand this, Please understand the reality.

I suggest you do your research and remind yourself what you are watching is fake and a sin of high magnitude. Go on youtube, do a Google search and type in Anti pornography , Google search chemical imbalance pornography and LOOK AT THE REALITY. Behind the scenes these women are disgraced. THINK about this in your mind, and ask yourself, What on earth am i doing, why am i watching these women being abused? Why am i disobeying Allah Azzawajal?

Keep on doing dua and REMEMBER to ask Allah Azzawajal to fix your chemical balance,
to fix whatever has altered in your brain, your mind, your body, your soul that causes you to do this act. This is of utmost importance

I pray Allah Azzawajal removes this disease from your heart and every single Muslim on the planet, O Allah Azzawajal, Protect us all from such evil!

    Allah Humma Ameen, Ameen

    Re: Pornography

I suggest you read the entire post linked below akhi, from the top to the bottom..you're not alone in that boat and reading about other brothers who are or have gone through the same will be of a lot of help. The part that stuck out to me the most when reading was the advice of Sh. Yasir Qadhi. Please read it.

    http://muslimmatters.org/2007/08/19/...-stories-tips/

    7. Advice from Shaykh Yasir Qadhi: To the husband, Qwerty:

    1) Regarding Qwerty’s situation, it reminded me of a fatwa I read from a great modern alim – someone whom I know personally very well and greatly admire. He was asked about a similar situation (person addicted to porn and masturbation). His response – I only wish I could find the original Arabic – almost moved me to tears. He started off with the basic advice of informing him that this was a sin and he should desist from it, and continually repent to Allah. So far it was standard. But then he continued on. He said that this sin, despite its evil nature, is not a major sin in and of itself (for example like actual zina), and as long as one repented and felt guilty it would not come under the rule ‘a habitual minor sin becomes a major sin’. Then he said – and this was the most beautiful point -
‘And make sure that Shaytan does not use this sin to prevent you from being of benefit to the Ummah in other ways, for this would be a greater victory for Shaytan than the actual sin you are committing’.
Meaning that the sin is a problem, but then sitting down in your house, despairing, and becoming totally useless to the Ummah is an even greater problem! So feel guilty for your sin, but use that guilt to make sure you generate more good deeds in order to make it up. Which leads me to my second point.

    2) Qwerty, and those in your boat, make sure you have more than the ‘average’ good deeds to show. Pray some extra nafls regularly, read Quran (and memorize, as you were doing), do dhikr… when in sajdah prolong it for that short extra time, realizing you need those blessings. During wudhu, perfect it and realize that for every drop of water that falls down a sin is removed. Saying isighfar, and especially the ’sayyid al-istighfar’ regularly, meaning what you say.

And indeed it is possible, if you do all this and more, that you will rise higher *because* of your sin, since it led you to higher heights. Again this is not a justification of the sin, but rather a ray of hope for the sinner that not all is lost. No human is sinless, and what you are doing is a (minor) sin, hence use it to be a better Muslim, and make du’aa to al-Rahman that He forgives you, and to al-Sitteer that He covers up and conceals it from others.

Allama Mahmood Alussi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates in Ruh-ul-Ma’ni: “Atta (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I have heard that on the Day of Judgment one group will be brought in such a way that their hands will be pregnant. I think they are the masturbators.” Allama Alussi further says: Saéed bin Jubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (Allah’s Grace & Peace be upon him) said: “Allah Exalted will inflict punishment on a group of people because they misused their private parts.” (Ruh-ul-Ma'ni p. 291)
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet of Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The person who performs marriage [nikah] with his hands (i.e. masturbates) is cursed.” (Fatawa Razaviyya, Vol. 10, p.80)

Since none of us can control the actions of others, we concentrate on that which we can control. Ourselves.

There are times we do need to become blind to what we unintentionally see. It does take practice and an effort. But, it can be done. When we find ourselves gazing at a picture with thoughts of lust, we have looked too long. A person needs to learn to gaze elsewhere the second they recognize a picture in it as being of a person of the opposite gender. It does take effort and strong will to learn and remember to do this, but it can be done.
