    i am depressed

    Report bad ads?

i am very depressed to see the extreme deception in todays time. it really rips off my heart to see that nowadays people are using the name of Allah and His Rasool (pbuh) for their own benefit. it has become really hard to differentiate between a dajjal and a genuine shaykh. What kind of hypocrisy is this? i find it hard to trust people. it really makes me cry sometimes.

    Re: i am depressed

    Assalamualaikum, young sister.

Since you are a woman, I guess you are talking (mainly) about people who use Islam as justification to oppress women.

not only that but a whole lotta other issues as well. i just wish Allah forgives all muslims but not those who tries to cheat with Allah. Nauzubillah. i have come to realize that just becomes a man with big beard does not represent his piety because nobody but Allah knows what is in His heart whether it is pure or corrupted!

Sister you are not alone in the way of thinking. In Europe immigrants from islamic countries are usually overrepresented in crime statistics Jahiliyya is here to stay. May Allah twt guide us all to the right path.

This is something you are not alone in at all...

... you know, I used to get depressed, or cheesed off, angry even - when I saw TV Shaikhs screaming down the microphone, tearing the speakers, making the audio quality inaudible, and when it was audible, I heard them talk rubbish... it's really frustrating that these so called shaikhs have forgotten what adhaab is.

And their intellect needs serious revision, do they not realise that they are being filmed for TV? they don't need to shout the world will hear them even if they whisper

It's things like this that put me off listening to these "scholars for the dollars".

Instead, I listen to eminent personalities that have a proven record of Islamic Academia behind their belts, speakers such as Hamza Yusuf Hansen and Habiib Ali Al Jifri, stick with these two for now, and I believe your depression will take a back seat in sha Allah.

[SIZE=14px]The ordinances of Islam are of two sorts:

For the first, Shariah is the basis and foundation. This sort is pure and true good.

For the other, Shariah is modifying and justifying. That is, it removes from a most savage and cruel form to a form that is the lesser of two evils (ahwan-ash-shar). It is rectifying, making it practicable for human nature, and in order to make it possible to move on to pure good, has been cast in a form taken from time and place. For it would necessitate reversing human nature to suddenly do away with a matter which prevails over it. Thus, the Shariah did not impose slavery. Rather, it reduced it from a most savage form to one which would open the way to complete freedom; it adjusted and rectified it. Also, the Shariah did not raise the number of wives from one to four - although polygamy is conformable with nature, reason, and wisdom. Rather, it reduced it to four from eight or nine. And in polygamy particularly it imposed such conditions that no harm at all can be caused in the practice of it. And even if there is any bad in certain points of it, it is the lesser of two evils. And the lesser of two evils is relative justice. Alas, there cannot be pure good in every situation in this world!
