I've developed really bad waswas/ocd tendencies

    Report bad ads?

    Salam alykum all,
So in the past couple of days i seem to have developed some ocd like tendencies which i have attributed to waswas. I constantly think that i didnt perform wudu properly( eg i didnt wash my nose properly) and im constantly repeating wudu. I've resorted to just doing the fard wudu now because it seems to stress me out less. I also constantly think my wudu's broken so once again im always repeating my wudu. I also cant concentrate on my salah because of this and i always end up thinking iv made a mistake in so my salah, so im repeating the salah constantly as well i also end up praying very quickly. I get stressed and it affects other stuff too eg my productivity- i kept on repeating my wudu constantly so i lost a huge chunk of time and didnt get much homework done. I feel so restless and paranoid and i dont know what to do at all. This is the first time something like this has happened to me and i really want to get rid of it. I dont know whether to just do my wudu once and then just pray and leave it. The thing is when i actually do break my wudu im so burnt out from doing all the other wudu that im just overwhelmed. If anyone had any advice on what to do id really appreciate it. Sorry for the long post but im worried it'l escalate further

    Walaikum Asalaam

    Perform ruqyaa on yourself.

Also, maybe put more focus when you make your wudhu so you can remember that you did it properly. Sometimes I make wudhu and I forget whether I washed my nose or whatever step I think I missed, because when you do something so often you tend to zone out and can't remember whether you did a step or not.

You could be stressed out and this is how you're reacting to the stress. OCD happens gradually overtime, but I can only think that it's happening suddenly either due to hasad or stress.

Just remember, wudu is broken by relieving ones self, sexual discharge, falling asleep, breaking wind but even that there has to either be noise and/or odor. The rest is your shaytan playing mind games with you. https://islamqa.info/en/10160

No, you shouldn't repeat your wudhu once done is enough even waswas come in your mind.

Don't repeat salah, do sajdah sahaw if you doubt.

Take it normal. It happens in momin's life. Shaytan whispers waswas. Don't heed to it

    Walaikum asalam

I used to suffer the same exact thing from you, and this is waswas, which usually starts when is not sure If he/she prayed/did wudu correctly, and so you repeat it.

At times I would shower 3 times, one after another, because I think I got some impurity on me, and the same with the wudu, sometimes I would repeat it 3-5 times.

The way I got rid of it for good is by ignoring it. If you're sure you did a mistake in salah or wudu, then fine repeat it, but if you are NOT sure, then do not repeat, and just continue inshallah.

And in terms of being unsure about whether you've released gas or not, here is Hadith that should clarify it. Because I've come across many articles in which people mention that feel like they've released gas ( kind of like a small bubble) but they are unsure. So Again ignore it unless you hear it or smell a bad odor

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his Household and grant them peace) has said, “If any of you feels something in his stomach such that it is unclear to him, whether something has come out or not, then he should certainly not leave the mosque, unless he hears a sound or smells an odour.”

sister, I suffer from the same problem. the best way to deal with it is just ignore it, because this comes from the shaytaan. what is worse, do you honestly believe, and be honest....think logically......making a small mistake in wudhu or salah, or feeding the shaytaan and giving him what he wants? all of what you are describing is from the shaytaan, however, if it is in the extreme, it may be OCD (Obsessive compulsive disorder, a mental illness) which requires psychiatric treatment, PRONTO, (I also suffer from this, and take medication which has helped a tremendous deal).......you may be thinking "well, i can't find a muslim doctor, but let me tell you something from experience......all my psychiatrists (and ive had many) were non muslim, except one muslim, and the muslim, and one hindu, were oppressors, while all the christians and jews were the nicest people ever........i have a hindu psychiatrist right now (or possibly indian atheist, i never asked her her religious obviously, all i know is she's indian), and she is the nicest lady, and my mother is always in the room with me when i see her, and she has been of tremendous help....i also had a jewish doctor who was very patient in my worst of states........another lady, who had my mother in the room, so none of you go "well, you sinned by khulwa" you need to see a psychiatrist, because what you are describing could very well be OCD, you can't be sure. even the muslims are psychiatrists, so don't think pharmaceuticals are all harmful like they'll have you believe...before i was on meds, i was a monster......now, when im off meds im a monster......but if its waswasa, just ignore it...dont feed shaytan's ego

Stop focusing so much on doubts. You are making a mountain out of an molehill. And your shaytan is relishing it. Seek refuge with Allah Azza wa Jal.

Re: I've developed really bad waswas/ocd tendencies

It's most probably the Shaytan trying to misguide you and he is creating waswas in your mind unless you have actually passed gas with noise/odor, or slept or passed discharge etc.. Make the best of your wudu and prayer, no need to keep repeating it. Islam recognizes that we are social beings so the Shaytan creates these waswas in your head to weaker you in in religion and in this school (giving your less time for hmk).

Do your best and ask for forgiveness and that Allah accepts your ibadaat
