    need some advice

    Report bad ads?

A friend of mine, she is 27 and her parents forbid her to develop herself. She works but whitout challenging. So she wants another job, she wants to learn another language or classical lesson, wants to sport, wants to marry. But her parents forbid all. Sometimes they forbid her even to shopping. She is depressing because of this, but want to obey and plaese her parents. But sometimes it feels for her like a prison. Why parents do this ?

Did you ask the parents? Are they practicing? Is your friend practicing islam? Where do they live?

Assalam walaikum. She has a right to get married. It might be best if she finds a good guy to get married to and leaves her controlling parents. Parents are like this because of their culture and because they think they want the best for their children. Sadly, controlling parents only suffocate their children. She needs to watch out for a potentially controlling husband and in-laws.

Big no..a woman cant marry whitout permission from her father. And parents know best what is good for their child. Such no blessing to not obey them. Sometimes its hard but thats life.

    Re: need some advice

You are just contradicting yourself. You said your friend feels like she is in a prison sometimes. Her parents are going against Allah's orders for men and women to marry young so fitna and zina don't happen. If anybody orders someone to against Allah's orders, that is a major sin and the person should listen to Allah, not to created beings. This sort of blind obedience to parents and husbands that you and many other Muslims promote is why so many children and wives are suffering under abuse and torture even. It's also a reason many people think Muslims are illogical and cult members because statements like that are contradictory and contrary to Islam but outsiders don't know that.
