If you follow politics, watch the news, see a documentary or read an autobiography there’s always some backbiting going on there. For example, politicians always poke at each other on Twitter. Is it permissible to hear backbiting (but not with the intention to get wrapped up in the gossip) but to get through a news story or something like that.
In the news, internet, in an autobiography or things like that there’s a lot of backbiting. Like how politicians or celebrities and even Muslim speakers backbite each other on Twitter or platforms like that. If I’m reading a news article (as an example) is it permissible to read over those parts to just get through the story or to understand the situation?
Of course, listening and enjoying it, getting wrapped up in the gossip isn’t good.
