Query on Joking in Islam

I know that laughing too much is makruh but what of excessive joking? I’m confused as to whether it’s haraam or makruh.

Everything that is excessive is not good...But that has nothing to do with Islam. Whether really haraam or makruh...I do not know.

But do not expect every behaviour is being prescriped in Islam...find the delicate balance between everything.
