If I am being oppressed is it permissable for me to.....

    Report bad ads?

    Assalamwalaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakathu

    Dear brothers and sisters,

If I am being oppressed and I know who the oppressor is (as well as those who collaborate with them) am I allowed to include in my daily prayers my requests for :

    - Divine justice against my oppressor (my former wife) and those who collaborate with her and add fuel to the fire
FOR oppressing me and my family using gold, wealth, bad manners and my offspring to oppress me.

    - Allah swt to harden their hearts and to test them to the brim of their limits so that THEIR own calamities may soften their hearts and bring them closer to their deen and steer them towards becoming more god conscious, more humane, more compassionate and becoming better muslims overall.

Some people say wishing bad things on others only brings 'bounce backs'... i.e. if i pray for someones misfortunes, it is likely the person requesting it will experience the misfortune. Or something we've al; heard, if we wish bad on someone, they by default inherit our accumulated good deeds.

If I'm asking for divine justice, I am merely asking Allah swt to decide how he should serve the justice.

I've been praying daily for a very very very long time now and in my duaz I always request to be saved from calamity.. however after many many years I now find myself in a position where i could not escape the current calamity I am in.

I have heard from one elder (77 year old doctor of quranic arabic full of wisdom) that it is permissable to request divine justice against who do injustice to you if they are still living. However if they have passed away, only Allah swt can judge them then and that we should pray that their sins be forgiven,,,,,,

Re: If I am being oppressed is it permissable for me to.....

wa 'alaykumassalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

According to these hadiths it is permissible to supplicate for anything that is not evil and there is no barrier between supplication of the oppressed and Allah. Be patient if your dua not answered right away, or not answered the way you want it.

    Ibn 'Abbas narrated:
"The Messenger of Allah sent Mu'adh [bin Jabal] to Yemen, and said: 'Beware of the supplication of the oppressed; for indeed there is no barrier between it and Allah.'" (Jami'at Tirmidhi)

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

The supplication of the servant is granted in case he does not supplicate for sin or for severing the ties of blood, or he does not become impatient. It was said: Allah's Messenger, what does:" If he does not grow impatient" imply? He said: That he should say like this: I supplicated and I supplicated but I did not find it being responded. and theu he becomes frustrated and abandons supplication. (Sahih Muslim)

    Jabir narrated that :

the Messenger of Allah said: “There is none who utters a supplication, except that Allah gives him what he asked, or prevents evil from him that is equal to it – as long as he does not supplicate for something evil, or the cutting of ties of the womb.” (Jami'at-Tirmidhi)

Even if the oppressed person does not make dua against the oppressor (who is still alive or already dead), on Judgement Day no one will be wronged.

Narrated Abu Huraira : Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Whoever has oppressed another person concerning his reputation or anything else, he should beg him to forgive him before the Day of Resurrection when there will be no money (to compensate for wrong deeds), but if he has good deeds, those good deeds will be taken from him according to his oppression which he has done, and if he has no good deeds, the sins of the oppressed person will be loaded on him." (Sahih al Bukhari)

There is dua you can say when experiencing calamity :

It was narrated from Umm Salamah that Abu Salamah told her that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:
“There is no Muslim who is stricken with a calamity and reacts by saying as Allah has commanded: ‘Inna lillahi, wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Allahumma indakah-tasabtu musibati, fajurni fiha, wa ‘awwidni minha (Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return. O Allah, with You I seek reward for my calamity, so reward me for it and compensate me),’ but Allah will reward him for that and compensate him with something better than it.” She said: “When Abu Salamah died, I remembered what he had told me from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and I said: ‘Inna lillahi, wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Allahumma indakah-tasabtu musibati, fajurni fiha (Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return. O Allah, with You I seek reward for my calamity, so reward me for it).’ But when I wanted to say wa ‘awwidni minha (and compensate me with better), I said to myself: ‘How can I be compensated with something better than Abu Salamah?’ Then I said it, and Allah compensated me with Muhammad (ﷺ) and rewarded me for my calamity.” (Sunan Ibn Majah)

Umm Salamah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "When a person suffices from a calamity and utters: 'Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. Allahumma ujurni fi musibati, wakhluf li khairan minha (We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. O Allah! Compensate me in my affliction, recompense my loss and give me something better in exchange for it), then Allah clearly compensates him with reward and better substitute. " Umm Salamah (May Allah be pleased with her) said: When Abu Salamah (May Allah be pleased with him) died, I repeated the same supplication as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had commanded me (to do). So Allah bestowed upon me a better substitute than him (I was married to Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)). (Sahih Muslim)

Assalamwalaikum brother IslamLife00, Jazak Allah for your insight. Can I trouble you to elaborate on:

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

The supplication of the servant is granted in case he does not supplicate for sin or for severing the ties of blood, or he does not become impatient. It was said: Allah's Messenger, what does:" If he does not grow impatient" imply? He said: That he should say like this: I supplicated and I supplicated but I did not find it being responded. and theu he becomes frustrated and abandons supplication. (Sahih Muslim)

Is it suggesting that I pray, pray and continue praying until a certain point where I feel my prayer is not being answered and abandon that certain request altogether.. .? Or is it suggesting that I continue praying until end of time without losing patience....?

    Jazak ALLAH

You mentioned that you have been praying a long time to be saved from calamity but after many years you have found that you cannot escape calamity.
The hadith says to be patient. Keep supplicating, until Allah grants your dua.

To this day I have prayed everyday against my oppressors... The evil activities continue with not even an Inckling that they plan to stop...

Please pray for me and my family and for my daughter being brought up by her narcissist mother. Pray that the oppression stops, pray that the ex wife and her family lose the ability to pervert the course of justice any more than they have done already. Pray that they are guided...

    Jazak Allah..

To be honest I have never been so sure on making dua against another Muslim. But I haven't been oppressed by someone to your extent. On judgement day though, all their deeds will make their scale suffer while you get compensated for what they did to you.

With the hardened heart dua, when someone's heart becomes hard, they become sealed away from faith and become bad people. I do not think that is what you meant though because in the part after you said let their calamaties soften their heart.

I don't even understand how all this is happening. I saw your other post about the hearing. You can't even see your child for another few months because of their manipulation? Its so confusing

Be patient brother.. You mightve heard this but its better to keep hearing it over and over again. One day it'll pay off. Maybe not in this world, but in the next. And they will get their own judgement and punishments

Oh sister.... the original post dates back to Dec 2018, I was feeling oppressed then at the time. Compared to all events up until now and 'ongoing', it would seem the oppression I was complaining about at the time (in Dec 2018) was not even scratching the surface. It got much much worse over time and the oppression continues.....

I'm sorry but I have a right to pray against my oppressors... for as long as they oppress me....

I don't hate them (otherwise the hate would consume me as I have come to learn), I pray they get punished in this life, severely enough so then maybe the oppression will stop. Divine justice is what I pray for....

Personally I would take advantage and ask Allah to make me a mumin and not just a Muslim...but a mumin and that every day you read Qura'an your believe grows strong and strong...to a point that there is no place for an atom size heart waver or doubt...that even the waswas increases your ima'an more more that you reach a stage that even the basic things we take for granted such as birds, rain, wind, etc make you even higher and higher and higher ima'an to a point that you pray with full conviction to Allah (Subhanahu Wa Talaa) that you die Muslim. I would add in my prayer while the curtain is lifted that when you die it is easy for you to say sha'ada. Those are what I will pray and ask for while oppressed. I will even ask Allah (Subhanu Wa Talaa) while I am sick or feeling the symptoms of sickness or bedridden sick or deathly bedridden sick that Allah (Subhanahu Wa talaa) make me strong and handle the calamity.

Now after all of this...for the evil doers I would do a dua that ask Allah (Subhanahu Wa talaa) to humiliate my enemies (even if that is my daughter...that baby girl on the lap of her mother) in this dunaya before akhira. That is what I WOULD do. That means should the girl grow up and she hates you and become your enemy she immediately goes under that dua. It all depend on the mother if she want her own flesh and blood to be your enemy or not. If she doesn't care that her own flesh and blood be thrown in the pit of hellfire as means of weapon against you....then...well.....it shows again...the fathers make better parents at a certain age than mothers. Which makes total sense for all the ladies out there who hate this...but a mother SHOULD BY LAW lose custody of her child once the child reach age seven for a girl and as for a boy...to ask the boy's permission if he wants to be with his mother or not. But for girls...sorry "mom"...the boat is switched now. Mother or no mother. Pregnancy or no pregnancy. Delivering a child or no delivering a child. Breast feeding or no breast feeding. At age seven that daughter goes to the father and YOU do child visit now. The daughter stays with the father until...only until...she gets married. THAT IS how it should be done.

Sons...they pick and choose to whom they wish to stay. If the boy wants to stay with their father...then sorry mom....the boy goes to the father.
