I heard that you’re meant to respect the law of the land you’re in so is it halal to protest against policies and practices that you believe are problematic?
Respecting the land you are not does not mean to be quiet about injustice. Or policies that are problematic. We are taught in islam to stand up for what is wrong. Especially now more than ever where there are many policies against Muslims.
Protest and make your voice heard. But as the brother above said without vandalizing the government or people's properties. And always to do it peacefully.
1) If you do not go after what you want, you will never have it
2) If you don't ask, the answer will always be no.
3) If you do not step forward, you'll always be in the same place
