need advice... don't know what to do...

    Assalamu'alaikum.

    here's the case.

I've been with tablighi jamaat in my neighbourhood lately. They invited me to shalat at mosque so that I started to shalat at mosque routinely. Though some regular jamaat dislike their existence.

Many rumours spreaded but non willing to do tabayun. So it feels like trial and tribulation where muslims call each other deviant, but make no effort to do tabayun, therefore prejudice blooming and I read many bad things comes out of prejudice.

Seeing things go like that, I decide to take heed the hadith about "muslims that is sleep is better than sitting, better than standing, better than walking, better than running". So I stop coming to mosque.

One day tablighi come visit me again, asking why I stop coming to mosque, so I tell them about that hadith. And they tell me how important to stick to jamaah and I believe I know the hadith, and they invite me to do 'itikaf at jumuah's night (or thursday night) so I decide to do 'itikaf again.

After mushawarah after Isha prayer and eat, I do istikharah pray, whether I should keep be with them or just stay at home, and I asking Allah to give a clear sign.

Since it's 'itikaf so I sleep at mosque, after finish subuh pray, a member offer me a job in his aqiqah business as a cook or whatever I can fit in, so I promise him answer next thursday.

Since I'm an unemployed, this is a chance for me to have activity and have income, usually I feel so bored stay at home all day. I feel rather excited a bit, start browsing many thing about goat recipe, goat meat, cooking technique, etc.

Then at night, I just have an urge a little to browse about deviant sect, then tablighi jamaat comes with it.

I feel confuse what to do.

in one hand I already perform istikharah pray whether I should stick with tabilighi jamaat or just stay at home.
On the other hand I got a job offered to me.

    ● If my finding about deviant sect is Allah's answer for my istikharah, that mean I should decline the job offer (shouldn't I?) and stop coming with jemaat tablighi.
I feel uneasy about it... like I've been with them, and they offered me a job, but I'm going to decline it and stop be with them. Feels like I'm slaping their face from behind, I dislike that... and I will have another boredom daily life again..

    ● if I accept job offer and keep be with them, I won't face boredom daily life again, but... isn't I just decline Allah answer of my istikharah?

    ● What's your view and advice on this?

    Thank you for response.

Re: need advice... don't know what to do...

The tablighi jamat is doing one of the most important works of Deen, reviving Imaan (faith) and A'maal (good deeds) among general Muslims. Several namesake Muslims have become practicing Muslims due to their efforts. My personal suggestion is to be with them, spend time with them, and you will start feeling the light of Imaan increasing in heart.

The fact that they have called you back to the Masjid when you had stopped going there is a clear indication of their good work.

Like every other jamat, this jamat also has a few deficiencies. So always keep referring back to the Qur'an and Sunnah, and get everything that hear and read clarified from knowledgeable scholars. Some of the things that you might read or hear them say could be exaggerated or taken out of context.

Thumbs down Re: need advice... don't know what to do...

Just ignore what others say about tabilighi jamat in the mosque brother and keep away from them as there will always be people disagreeing with this group and that.

As brother AabiruSabeel said Tabilighi jamaat are good and their benefits far outweigh their deficiencies.

In Tablighi Jamat (I speak from experience as I've been to their '3 days') you will learn how to say the surahs properly, and the rulings of salah etc, you will learn how to give dawah and you will practice that too by actively engaging in dawah.

You will spend most of your time in Mosque where you will continue to get dua of 2 angels, 1 saying 'oh Allah forgive him' and another saying 'oh Allah bestow mercy on him' and anytime you're in Mosque, if you do the intention of itikaf, you'll get the reward of itikaf too

You will also practically learn a zikr regimen that will be very beneficial for you for life

And most importantly you will be practicing salah in masjid 5 times daily that helps you get used to it

Also they'll tell you lots of stories about jannah and jahannum that instils taqwa in the heart

What I experienced from tabilighi jamaat is, after you come home from '3 days', you will automatically feel like going to masjid to catch every salah there and you'd be afraid to miss salah

They have a daily routine too when you're at your home and not out on their trips, that consists of zikr, ghast (going door to door in your locality to give dawah and call Muslims towards masjid), spending time in mosque and taalim (reading from hadith book in a gathering)

They do say a lot of 'weak' hadiths too but that's ok as they're only for iman boost and not about rulings

So stay with this jamaat as its a sure way to stay safe from going astray, and remaining rightly guided

PS: Istikhara is about getting a feeling in the heart about what to do and not that Allah may guide you to this article or that, so rest assured, that anti tablighi article was not an Istikhara result
