I have recently had my heart broken.At night i become better until fajr,but then during the morning and afternoon its so painful.I miss her a lot and i am blinded from love for her.That contributes too the fact that im very lonely.What has worked for you? I am not able to find something online that would help me go through this and lessen the pain.If I could accept that it was the Qadr of Allah and i am better without her then i would have felt better but i dont accept it.I am afraid i made a mistake because i am the one who ended it because she was an atheist.And i think what if she was the one for me and i made a mistake.If she ended it or didnt love me id feel way better,knowing she wasnt meant for me.But im afraid i made a huge mistake and during the periods i feel bad i really want to go back to her.Its been almost 20 days i still want to cry..
Im a practising muslim so dont tell me pray and make duaa etc i already do all these.But i need smth to help me.How long did yours last? A brother told me it may last 2-10 years,thats crazy i cant live with this emotional trauma for years.Its not letting me do anything..

May Allah heal you and grant you strength.
Allah the Wise has prevented you from that girl. He knows best about her. All human beings make mistakes aswell. Allah has allowed that mistake you made to happen. He loves you and wants to make you strong Muslim, so He is testing you. Give thanks to Him.
Try work hard to forget her. There must be many good muslimah out there (Allah knows best). In sha Allah Allah will grant you one ameen. Try focus on Quran (as mentioned by sister Aisha above), following prophet peace be upon him's sunnah, do more dikhr. Seek more knowledge for benefit of yourself and your next life.
Be with your family, help them in their works, do more good deeds as much as you can. remember if calamity strikes a muslim by permission of Allah, it is because of his / her sins.
Just don't spend even a single moment thinking about her. Get yourself preoccupied with something. And it could be anything, seeking knowledge of deen or dunya or spending time with good friends or try pick up some hobby. Just don't sit idle, remember empty mind is devil's workshop. If it is in your means to marry then do marry otherwise fast.
May Allah ta'ala alleviate your pain and replace it with ease and aafiyah.
Also recite this dua abundantly. It was taught by Rasulullah صلی الله عليه وسلم to Hazrat Asma bint Umais رضي الله عنها and asked her to recite it at the times of distress and anguish:
اللَّهُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي، لَا أُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا
"Allah, Allah is my Rabb, I do not ascribe any partners to him."
Hence one should keep reciting it when overcome with distress/anxiety. In short it is never futile to call upon the name of Allah.

This isn't love though brother. Your heart break is a warning sign that you have placed someone else instead of placing Allah SWT in that hole. Return back to Allah SWT before you get a rude awakening for wronging your own soul.
Also she doesn't love you. She gets sth from you because she loves herself, not YOU. Find your self brother before it's too late.
