I’m here because I am searching for my faith and I need help. I grown up in a family without religion or belief. They did not teach me about God or concept of religions in my childhood. I read parts of Quran and Bible. I researched about a lot of religions to find God cause in my heart, I always believed there is God. After researching and talking with people, I started to believe in God. Then after reading more I started to believe there is only one God. I also wanted to find my faith so that I can worship God properly. I believe that one of three religions (Judaism, Christianism or Islam) is the true religion since I believe there is only one God but I don’t know how I choose to believe one. I think the people who are raised with religion since their childhood have strong belief without questions. But right now, I face with difficulties. Think about me as a person who was raised with no religion concept. I really don’t know how people choose religions. Should I listen to my heart without considering the holy books or should I question everything in holy books? If I believe in the majority of the holy book but some parts are not certain in my mind, does that mean I cannot truly choose that religion? As you can see I am really confused but even now, without a religion, I have a strong belief in God and I really love him so much. For a long time I m searching for religion to worship him as soon as possible in a proper way but I am lost. Since Islam is one of the religions that I may belong to, I wanted to ask for help. Could you please guide me with what you think about how to choose a religion? Thank you very much.
In Islam we believe none has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone. (Dont let the name Allah trouble you Arab Jews and Christians call God Allah)
We believe in jesus as a noble prophet of Allah but do not believe he should be worshipped as a god besides the Creator. Even in the bible jesus taught the oneness of God "hear oh Israel the lord your God is one"

I wrote a long reply but decided that it's more suitable for the revert story thread.
But I can share what happened, the very day I took my shahada.
I first knew about Islam 2 years before my shahada. Ever since I was curious about it. So I asked around, a muslim co worker, online Islamic website, videos.
That day, I had no more doubts about Islam. But it's been many years since I cared about religion, and I didn't want to accept Islam only to leave it for whatever reason.
(I was raised with a religion but I decided to abandon it when I was very young because I didn't believe in it)
So I sat there, wondering what to do, how to be sure and so on. Then it came to me. Why not ask Allah Himself? According to Islam, He is God, right?
So I closed my eyes, I thought about what to ask Allah, what to say (this was new to me. I was not an atheist, but I never actually said any prayer that is not already written in the books)
I got what I asked, almost instantly. That was the moment I said my shahada.
Maybe this will work for you as well, inshaAllah.
Jabir bin 'Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:'A slave (of Allah) shall not believe until he believes in Al-Qadar, its good and its bad, such that he knows that what struck him would not have missed him, and that what missed him would not have struck him." (Jami 'at Tirmidhi)

That is really a different way. I have always told myself that I've tried every way but how to find my religion.. But I never tried to ask God. I always asked people. I will ask him too. Thank you.
