Ruling on doing suicide due to huge depression

    Report bad ads?

    Assalamu alaikum,

A Christian class mate girl have trusted me that I will pass the exam this year, and she made a promise that if I'm gonna pass the exam this month, then she with her boyfriend would go somewhere to have some fun. And she even put forth a warning to me which is: "if you fail the exam this time, me and my boyfriend would beat you hard!". This kind of warning have put me in terrible and ackward situation, because personally, I don't have trust on myself, because I have failed last year the exam while before entering the exam hall, I was so convinced that I would pass the exam and I dif not want to believe that I have chances of failing, and at the day of results, I was in great shock to see that it is not what I used to believe I will do.

And if I fail this month the exam, probay this would be the Greatest Fitnah!! Because, my former class mate girl in High School can change any time her mind and she can even decide to make fun of me for failing the exam in public!!

This futuristic incident is truly worst nightmare which I can ever have. What worse can it be after being humiliated in public by her for not passing the exam!? Is there anything worse than this!???

I personally have witnessed and realised that I made a huge mistake for not stdying continually until the Day of Exams.

I don't know how I can escape from this kind of weird consequence which I will have in future..

I'm pretty exhausted of failing the exam. This is the 2nd time of failing.

This is it! I simply cannot endure the failing and plus futuridtic consequene. Because, it is way too much to pay this consequene.

I simply cannot believe that she would put her trust on me in this matter and I have not even asked her to do this, because that would put me in a awful situation. Because, I told myself that if I want to gain someone's trust, then I must work for it. Because, for a person to get something, then I must work for it, because nothing is free in this world not even he trust is not free. So based on this, I believe that she have a unjust decision.....

And also, I will have to suffer other consequenes after being humiliated by a girl and her boyfriend in public for not passing the exam which is going to beach will be cancelled and also cancellibg the matg tuition teacher

Wallahi, this year is the Year of Trouble! Actually, it is the Year of Greatest Trouble!!

And I was thinking of ending my life before Saturday arrives, because at Saturday, the results will come and I'm pretty sure I have failed in math and most probably also in Romanian... and I don't want for my tuition math teacher to comr home with sadness when seeing me. I prefer to be absent.

So, is it ok in Islam if I wanna do this just so that I can escape these consequences which I simply don't have the power to endure and neither to pay them!? And I want also to free myself from depression which right now I am and from the future depressions!

I simply don't know why I have to live long life... I dispise having a long life mainly because of this...

I really wonder, why Allah Ta'ala did not Decreed To write for me the age of death which I would like to be 18!?

Asalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu

Brother this is such a foolish thing to consider suicide over

May Allah make things easy for you and soothe your sadness but you need to snap out of this kind of thinking

Could you turn the stove on full and keep your hand there for ten minutes? You wouldn't last ten seconds so how do you think you could handle the punishment in hellfire for suicide for what could be thousands of years

    She probably wasn't serious anyway

Reach out for help to the support services available in your country. inshaAllah with counseling you can overcome these issues you are feeling

    Salaam brother.

Please be patient and to seek the help of Allaah, may He be exalted, and understand that no matter what hardship befalls him in this world -- no matter how severe it is -- the punishment of the Hereafter is worse than it. It is not acceptable according to anyone who is of right mind to run away from the heat of the desert and throw himself into the fire. How can he flee from temporary hardship and difficulty -- which inevitably will come to an end -- to an eternal punishment which has no end?

You should ponder and realize that you are not the only one in this world who is affected by calamity and hardship. Calamities befell the greatest of mankind, namely the Prophets, Messengers and the righteous. They also befell the worst of mankind, namely the disbelievers and atheists. As well as religious people of all religions.

Calamity is part of the natural order of things and hardly anyone is safe from it.

If the believer handles it well and is patient, and it becomes a means that makes him turn back to Allaah and strive hard in worship and righteous deeds, then the calamity will have been good for him and will be expiation for his sins, and perhaps he will meet Allaah with no burden of sin.

The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) said: “No pain, hardship, sickness or grief befalls a believer, not even worry that befalls him, but some of his bad deeds will be expiated.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5642) and Muslim (2573).

Al-Tirmidhi (2399) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) said: “Calamities will continue to befall believing men and women in themselves, their children and their wealth, until they meet Allaah with no burden of sin.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth al-Saheehah (2280).

I urge you to stop discussion with the opposite gender. And her threatening is either a sick joke or a threat which you must tell a superior. Whether you pass or fail, it was Allah's will, nothing will change that. But you can change what happens afterwards. Live for the sake of your family, your loved ones, and your future loved ones. Please seek help in terms on therapy and counselling right away! You are in a dangerous mindset, and if left untreated will cause your demise. And continue to pray to Allah everyday to ease your pain. I will make dua for you as well.

    And Allaah knows best.

Re: Ruling on doing suicide due to huge depression

First and foremost, you should never consider suicide. Committing suicide means that you have lost hope in Allah and that you don't trust Him to take care of you. You need to understand that Allah tests everyone with only what they can handle. If you couldn't handle it, you wouldn't be facing this situation. You need to stop worrying about your future as much as you do and just do what you can now to the best of your ability, then leave the rest to Allah.

You need to change your priorities and make Allah your reason for living. Why do you care what the creation thinks of you? Only Allah has true power over you. Do you want to please the people here in this world and have temporary joy or do you want to please your Creator and have permanent joy? If things in life constantly seem like they're never going to get better, then you need to take a look at yourself. Do you perform your 5 daily salah's on time and consistently? Do you fast all of Ramadan? Do you pay Zakat? Do you pray in the Masjid on Friday? Do you give charity? Do you abstain from sinning? Even what people consider small sins can add up and block good from entering your life.

Allah warns us not to take disbelievers as your friends. From the sound of it, you should break ties with these people and do your best to find good and pious Muslim friends who would support you. No true friend will ever threaten to attack you or make fun of you at a low point in your life. You should never have friends of the opposite sex either. You can be kind to them, but you have to keep a barrier between you and them.

Nothing in this world lasts forever. The main thing that you should strive towards is to purify your heart by filling it with the remembrance of Allah and building up your love for Him. Once you have that figured out and live your life according to, everything else becomes easier, inshallah.

What I was trying to say is that she have said that just so that she can motivate me to study hard.

But the main problem is that I don't have the trust that I will do well in exam, because I had bad experience in past.

And once I fail, it is highly possible that she coukd turn her joke into real one, mainly because she got disapointed at me.

    That girl has a bipolar....

Now because of this, I really don't know what to think anymore about her.

A, so it is possible that this can be also as a form of punishment for not doing the obligatory stuff...

Another great problem which I have to deal is with laziness.

So basically, my laziness attracts the Punishment and Anger of Allah on me. Now I have ti figure out ways of how to stop being lazy.

Regarding the place of performance. I make them only at home, because the Mosques are far away from me and I don't have time to reach them out.

If I try to wake up for Fajr in Bucharest and go to a Mosque, then that would mean of going late. Mainly because the distance is great one between my building and that nearest Mosque which is not in my place.

Only Allah knows the exact reason why you are facing the things that are happening in your life, we can only assume. You are required to travel to a masjid for Jummuah Salah since it is obligatory. The further you are, the more rewards you get for traveling to it. You are only required to pray in congregation for the daily Salah if you live close enough to a masjid in which you can hear the adhan without it being blasted through a loud speaker. https://islamqa.info/en/answers/2065...-in-the-mosque

Yes, your laziness is a very bad habit. It is a byproduct of procrastination, which is one of the most powerful tools the Shaytan uses against us. We don't know when we are going to die, what if we die before we become better Muslims? Is it worth all the punishments that we will get in the next life? I have this problem too. Over the years I have just kept procrastinating over and over and over and it has ruined my life and destroyed my Eman. I used to blame Allah but the truth is, it was all my fault.

If you think about it, what Allah asks us to do are really easy things. Salah takes 5-8 minutes each time and you only need to do it 5 times a day. How many times have you or I spent our times sitting in front of a computer playing video games or watching movies and shows? I wasted a lot of time doing that. If I had focused on learning Arabic, I'd be a master of it by now. Instead, it was all time wasted.

What else does Allah ask of us? Fasting for Ramadan becomes easy by the third day unless you have a medical condition, and even then there are things you can do to make up for it. Even if it isn't Ramadan, you can fast Mondays and Thursdays in order to make more good deeds. Charity is easy to do as well, just give what you can. You don't have to give away all of your money. Reading the Quran can be difficult if you don't know Arabic, but you will be rewarded for every letter you try to pronounce. Even if you get it wrong, you will get rewarded for the effort, inshallah, as long as you do your best. Trying to acquire Islamic knowledge is another way to increase your good deeds. So even coming to this forum will help you, as will watching or listening to Islamic lectures on YouTube.

But you need to make sure you do your best to stop sinning and repent and seek forgiveness every time you slip up. A black spot appears on your heart every time you sin. The more you sin, the more black your heart becomes until you no longer have Eman left. In order to cleanse it, you need to constantly remember Allah at all times, praise his name, and behave as if he was right in front of you at all times. You need actively deny the sins that you may want to commit.

I am not accusing you of doing the following, but just pointing out some things people don't realize are sinful- looking at the opposite sex or having them as friends, having Kuffar as friends (Allah states that they will never be your true friends), listening to Music, watching haram shows or films- Almost all films have haram in them even if you don't think they're a big deal, they are, it's just we got so used to watching them, we have been conditioned into thinking they are ok, they are not, now lowering your gaze when you see the opposite sex walking by, not keeping clean - Allah loves those who purify themselves, even the way you use the restroom can cause you to sin. Do you pee standing up? You shouldn't, since that will increase the risk of urine splashing on to you, even if you don't see it. Do you properly clean yourself with water after you use the restroom? I know it can be difficult to do it in public places, but you can always keep travel packs of wet wipes to wipe with and a bottle of water to rinse with. Don't use regular toilet paper since it doesn't do a good job and will leave dirt. Do you gossip about other people? This is a really big sin that many people underestimate and all it does is causes people to resent one another. I had and still have this problem and I am actively working on stopping, Inshallah. Do you tell non Muslims happy birthday or merry Christmas? That is haram because you are promoting shirk and you should take no part in those celebrations even if it is just kind words.

It may seem like a lot, but you are not expected to perfect yourself overnight. Take things one step at a time and try to recognize when you sin and immediately regret and repent to Allah. When you sin, the Angel that writes down your bad deeds doesn't write it down immediately, they wait six hours. If you repent and seek forgiveness for it, the sin doesn't get written down, but if you don't then you get one sin written down.

My recommendation for you is to break ties to anyone who causes you pain and may lead you to sin. Bad company will just corrupt you more and more. You wont even realize it until it is too late. Even if you feel lonely, know that Allah is your friend if you seek Him. Make sure you pray your daily Salah on time to the best of your ability and take things one step at a time from there. Seek knowledge of Islam, but don't over do it, Islam actually recommends you to take breaks from constant worship, and by breaks I don't me not praying, but you are allowed to play halal games, do sports, go for a nice walk, paint (As long as its not something with a soul), or even go lay down and relax. Just don't overwhelm yourself because that is another way Shaytan tricks you.
