    Inability to make decision

    Report bad ads?

Lucky are those who don't dither between decisions. I have been invoking Allah for something for 3-4 months now. My comrades tell me there is no use in asking Allah for it, since it is gone. To a certain extent, as the time goes on, I am beginning to believe that perhaps they are right, it is time to let go. My heart is unable to understand anything else, and is convinced that dua can change qadr. Just like here, i read on other forums that how somethings won't happen, etc. At the same time i believe that out of 7 billion people in this world, only 3-4 people share their experiences. Can somebody, please knock some sense into my brain?

    Re: Inability to make decision

Remember what missed you was not meant for you even if it went by a few hairs. And what hit you was meant to hit you. If you are not getting it, think of how it may potentially it may be bad for you but you are unable to see. Look through a different perspective. Trust me...there so many things I want but I am grateful Allah gives me the wisdom to realize why those things are bad. I know its harder for you because you may not realize why its not working out for you. Just keep hope in bigger things like getting sins forgiven, paradise, and other duas. Just make dua but knoe dua is 2 parts. You have to try then Allah facilitates the rest. If you tried and the path is not getting easier, then Allah has better plans. Normally when there is long time or delay or obstacles, it possibly means it is not good for us. Allah knoes best. But I ask Allah to make ur situation easy and give you what's best and make u the most happy in both worlds

your way of thinking is wrong. you are making the mistake many of us make unfortunately.

some things are reserved for you...but you will only obtain those if you work for it. if you do not work for it...you will not get it...
and because Allah knows in advance whether you will work for it or not...it is in your qadr or not...

so bottom line when you are saying "why would I make dua for it if it is in my qadr...then appearantly it is NOT in your qadr.

a farmer cannot just plant the seeds and then lay back and hope for a good crops...he has to work for it...and just making dua is not enough. if he doesn't water them daily...then appearantly it wasn't in his qadr to have good crops that year.

    Re: Inability to make decision

Below is the general answer to your question which is also very general and has no specific details.

Yahya related to me from Malik that Zayd ibn Aslam used to say:
No-one makes a dua without one of three things happening.
    Either it is answered,
or it is stored up for him,
or wrong actions are atoned for by it.
    "

USC-MSA web (English) reference: Book 15, Hadith 36
Arabic reference: Book 15, Hadith 508
    https://sunnah.com/urn/505080
We don't know what dua you are making, why you are unable to take any action and why everyone around you think that its too late to make the dua you are making. You and only you know your situation and no one here can give an answer specific to your situation without knowing details of your situation. We can keep going in circles until we know specific details.

    And Allah knows the best!

    Re: Inability to make decision

Akhi, no need to get angry. I am shy about sharing details about the dua. The question is really specific. When to know it is time to move on from invoking Allah for a certain thing, when you know you can't do anything else for it. I've been reading alot online, and i get confused (the internet is a weird place). Then i have never been so religious, so i wonder that i didn't remember allah during my good times, will he respond to me during my bad ones? does that make me a hypcrite.?

    Re: Inability to make decision

Sorry if it felt like I was angry. I am just trying to help and find it difficult to give an advice without more details.
If there is nothing in your control then only thing you can do is to make dua. Keep your trust in Allah and be patient. You may not get the thing you want but I am sure that Allah will make things easy for you by removing other hardships in your life inshallah.
Regarding not being able to remember Allah in good times, Allah loves when someone turns back to Him. That’s one of the reason we have tests and trials. Nothing is constant in life, inshallah your situation will change. Inshallah things will get better again and make sure to remember Allah in good and bad times in future.

you make dua because effort alone is not enough.
lets take the example of our farmer...he has to put effort to have good crops...plant them...water them daily...etc...everything in his power to make sure that his crops grow well...but besides that he is still dependant of external factors like wether...disease...plagues etc...these external factors can still destroy his crops...so he must make dua so that that will not happen.
