4 years ago I was lost, broken, depressed, and ignorant. I didn't know much as islam. During this time, a nonmuslim older married woman met me and offered to commit zina with me. I considered doing it with her but I felt ashamed and disgusted with myself and made sure to cut off contact with this woman. I feel ashamed that I actually considered doing this sin. I thank Allah he didn't let me do this sin but now I still feel like had it not been for his mercy I would have commited zina. I feel so ashamed and even now women approach me for zina and I say no but I still feel tempted. I'm scared of slipping and losing my way. Will Allah forgive me?
“There are seven whom Allaah will shade with His shade on the day when there will be no shade except His: the just ruler; a young man who grows up worshipping his Lord; a man whose heart is attached to the mosque; two men who love one another for the sake of Allaah and meet and part on that basis; a man who is called by a woman of rank and beauty and says ‘I fear Allaah’; a man who gives in charity and conceals it to such an extent that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives; and a man who remembers Allaah when he is alone, and his eyes fill up.” (Agreed upon, narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 620; Muslim, no. 1712; and others).
Be reminded and find solace in the fact that you will face difficult trials and as long as you do what is right, Allah will remember you and reward you inshallah. There's nothing better than receiving Allah's mercy and love on the day of judgement.
It was narrated in a hadith qudsi [that Allah said to the angels]: “… and if he gives it (the bad deed) up for My sake, then record it for him as one good deed…” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (7501). Meaning that the one who intends to sin, but gives it up for the sake of Allah, they will be rewarded as if they performed a good deed. Perhaps, you can take some solace in that.
The world is full of all sorts of temptations, do your best and strive to please Allah in whatever capacity you can, so that you can possibly move past this.
