I was wondering, how is it possible for a person who does not have the mental capacity (i.e. they have some sort of condition) to believe in Islam to be saved from the Hellfire? I mean, logically, there would have to be some way, right? Obviously this is just a hypothetical situation, I was just curious. Can anybody clarify this for me?
Aa’eyshah narrated that the Prophet said,'
The pen has been lifted from three:
The sleeper until he awakens;
the young child until he reaches puberty;
and the mentally ill until he comprehends.'
(sunan of tirmidhi; sunan of ibn maajah)
I'm not sure I understand, are you enquiring about what happens to mentally ill people who have lost touch with reality? If so they are not held to account due to their mental illness.
“Who said that guidance requires there to be someone accompanying you"
Sorry sis for the late reply. I came across this verse.
There is not upon the blind any guilt or upon the lame any guilt or upon the ill any guilt [for remaining behind]. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger - He will admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow; but whoever turns away - He will punish him with a painful punishment. (Surat Al-Fatĥ 48:17)
