    Re: asking of allah

i dnt know if this is a hadeeth or jsut a saying...

but in turkish there is a saying which refers to the issue you have wonderfully touched on:

    "vermek istemeseydi, istemeyi vermezdi.."

    which roughly trans to:

"if he hadnt wanted to give, he would have given 'wanting'(the ability to want)"...

this doesnt really answer ur question...bt it sort of adds to the issue...

    You speak the unspeakable through
    I love you too"

    because he told us to?
Know that Allah (SWT) is the Greatest. Nothing can happen without Him letting it happen. Allah (SWT) is in control over EVERY SINGLE thing. He(SWT) knows and sees all that we do and all that we think. He knows us better than anyone else.
Continuously make duas. Depend on Allah (SWT) and never stop asking from Him. Ask Him for everything; big and small. Turn to Him when you need help; turn to Him with anything. He knows How you feel---Even if you don't say it..you just need to show that you Want Him [The All-Capable] to help.
Repent continuously . Ask Allah (SWT) for forgiveness for He is the Most Forgiving and He is the Only one who can save and help you.
Don't let your desires be higher than what Allah's (SWT) orders and wants for you. Worship and be guided by Allah (SWT) only--not shaytan

    Re: asking of allah

Reminds me of prophet yahya (pbuh) when he was in some difficulty and kept praying to Allah for so long, when he asked Allah why He was not answering his prayers Allah said to him that He loves to hear his voice (asking of Allah)

In Surat al-Fatiha we say in every rak'ah "You alone we obey and You alone we ask for help"

    The first signifies Tawhid al-uluhiya

    while the second Tawhid ar-rububiyah

asking of Allah is part of believing in Tawhid that you rely on Him alone and ask of Him alone

    wAllahu a'lam
    asking of allah

"Indeed in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest"

    Re: asking of allah

Love loves those who ask of Him. If you don't ask then He gets mad that you don't ask and you think too highly of yourself or something. Plus by you asking, it is recorded by the Angels on record so Allah grant you or give you reward later for it so that everything can be on record for J-Day.
