    Connecting words?

    Report bad ads?

Can any brother or sister post some words which connect to other words in the arabic language.

    I'll give some examples:

Bi = with? [Bi (with) ismi (name) Allah]

K = you. [for example [barak Allaahu feeK]

    H = him/her [i.e. radhiAllaahu anH?]

    Are those right?

It's not a quiz or anything, just something we might be able to benefit from insha'Allaah.

So can anyone post some more please? Or correct what i said. Jazaak Allaahu khayrun.

    Re: Connecting words?

It's about connectives, and i gave examples above [i'm not sure if their right.]

So for example the letter 'baa' in arabic means 'with' right? That's why when bismillaah is said, its the three words -

    Bi [with]

    ismi [name] (of)

    illaah [God]

I've also noticed that if i was to simply say 'Rabb' - that would mean Lord/Cherisher. But if i said RabbuK [your Lord] - the K or kaaf would refer to the word as you or your.

I just wanted to know if anyone could explain more insha'Allaah.

    Re: Connecting words?

Let me try: (I am using surah Al-Fataha)

Na = Us [Na (Us) Sirata (path) al (the) mustakeewm (Upright)]

If you add "Ihdee" (guid, direct) in the beginning the sentence becomes "Guide us (to the) path (of) the upright"

    wa alaykum as salaam..

when a noun is affixed with a personal pronuon (ie: Ka, Ki, ha, hu ) it becomes poessesive!?

Pretty hard to explain in english Im sorry!

    It's like when you have kitaab muhammed/ Muhammed's kitaab , miftaah Ahmed / Ahmed's keys!! ..

Perhaps somone else can explain further!

And for your connectives, there's :

"Li" means: for , on behalf, in favour of, due to ... etc

    - Li'anna: which means because, on the grounds that.

    -Li'kayy : so that, in order that/to.

    - Li'dhaalika/Li'haadhaa: therefore, hence, for that reason or that is why..

hope that helps InshaAllah. is that what you wanted?

Yeah, jazaak Allaah khayr. Whenever someone posts a word, can you post an aayah that uses that word too so we can look at it and reflect on that.

Jazaak Allaahu khayr for helping out.
