View Full Version : Movies i'm keen on watching

These are some of the movies i really can't wait to watch.
Munich:Which is based on the true story of the 11 israeli athletest murdered at the Munich Olympics by palestianians. It's about the five men chosen to eliminate the ones responsible for the muder. It's really the first truly adult movie by steven spielberg.
Syriana:Also a very intresting movie starring Matt Damon and George Clooney
And mostly Paradise Now that everybody is talking about:
"Taken from IMDB"

PARADISE NOW, like THE WAR WITHIN, educates an American audience on the tragedy of the complex battle of "Arab vs. Jew" and does so in a film that brings this struggle home to the West Bank and gives us a picture of two friends selected to carry out revenge for the death of fellow Palestinians. Well constructed, realistic, informative and yes, even humanistic in presenting us with characters that we would immediately disregard with hatred and contempt.

The journey taken by the friends is painful, personal and disturbing, in that the killing of Jews will only extend the bombings and killings of more Palestinians within the West Bank. PARADISE NOW shows us that the historical roots of hatred between Arab and Jew is one that will never go away, and the film points out this factor visually in building to the final scene on the bus in Tel Aviv. When the camera narrows down to the eyes of the bomber, surrounded by healthy, happy Israeli soldiers, the intense moment of self destruction is inevitable.

The shots of Tel Aviv, the West Bank, the excellent cast, direction and writing and development of the characters makes PARADISE NOW a very important film to see in 2005.

I really want to watch these movies,i think they're very powerful and are Award worthy...

I don't know. 'Schindler's List', 'Saving Private Ryan', 'A.I.' and 'Minority Report' weren't exactly kiddy fodder :p

Paradise Now sounds very interesting. :)

Salaam.

Sure it's Islamic related, but not on the greener side. By the way, if you think Munich is Islamic related, in 2007 (hopefully) Steven Seagal will be releasing his version of an Islamic related film. The third part in the Under-Siege series.

:sl:

Steven Seagal is crap. Steven Spielberg is pretty cool when he's not all political and going on about 'issues' - the films he makes for the sake of entertainment are entertaining indeed.

this is a must watch:

http://imdb.com/title/tt0436971/

Why We Fight

Plot Summary for Why We Fight (2005)

He may have been the ultimate icon of 1950s conformity and postwar complacency, but Dwight D. Eisenhower was an iconoclast, visionary, and the Cassandra of the New World Order. Upon departing his presidency, Eisenhower issued a stern, cogent warning about the burgeoning "military industrial complex," foretelling with ominous clarity the state of the world in 2004 with its incestuous entanglement of political, corporate, and Defense Department interests.

A review:

This Is The Documentary Americans Aren't ALLOWED To See..., 8 April 2005
10/10
Author: truthmissile from United States

First thing - EVERY single American SHOULD and MUST see this movie.

This how we are perceived in other parts of the world. It was aired unedited on the BBC in the UK. You WILL NEVER see this aired on American TV. Got that? The most Free Nation on Earth will allow to see the most disgusting pornography and violent images you can imagine, but if you want to know the TRUTH about our Foreign Policy and the War Machine that runs it? Forget about it!

If you want to see men in power like John McCain, Dan Rather, Richard Perle, etc tell the truth about what they think about Iraq, the Military Industrial Complex you MUST see this movie.

It changed my life. I can now see how this country is run, by and for whom, from a far more realistic, objective place - and that's why every crooked, misguided, corrupt troglodyte will tell you not to see WHY WE FIGHT by Eugene Jarecki. You're an American, see it and make up your own mind!

I love America and want to do something to improve the way our hard earned taxpayer money is spent. And how we as Americans are viewed around the world.

Simple. Just don't pay for anything. Ever.

One would end up in prison that way, but at least one would have a 'clear conscience' :p

In what way was Munich "islamic" related? This was long before the Palestinian-Israeli conflict took on the religious slant it has now. The PLO/Fatah and Black September were essentially secular socialist organisations, not islamic ones.

I heard Munich was quite balanced actually. In that it makes both sides look as bad as each other, I imagine. However, I have not seen it so I am not in a place to judge.

As do a percentage of every non-Muslim product we buy.

As does an aggregated percentage, eventually, of the bills we pay for using the Internet.

Reality sucks, huh?

The crew who directed the Message should be killed. Idiots!

And Shorok, it actually shows somewhat what the real problem is in the Middle East. Not what you think actually.

That's a pretty extreme, internet-geek-style complaint.

The word 'Idiots' is pure Napoleon Dynamite though, the father of hilarity.
