In 1947, when the UN debated the admission of Zionist enclave in the Middle East - the UN was dominated by the anti-Islam western countries. However, the few Afro-Asian members put up much resistance to this new western colonial outpost as they could. The first vote received the approval of the US, the European members, Australia and White South Africa.

The Philippines member called the Partition Plan as the violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and as being “clearly repugnant to the valid nationalist aspirations of the peoples of Palestine”. Indian memorandum stated “if the Jews really needed a state, why not the state of New York, which has well over three million Jews already”. The Pakistani, Indian, and Iranian delegates joined in condemning the proposed plan, and the Chinese delegate found it unsatisfactory.

Jewish Lobby in America, however, succeeded in prevailing upon the Philippines and Liberia, both of which were especially vulnerable to US pressure, to abandon their earlier opposition to the Jewish enclave. Thus the Zionist Israel was imposed on Muslim-majority Palestine without their consent mainly because they were powerless to thwart the western plan.
Most Afro-Asian leaders and people, then and now, are not conviced by

Zionist biblical apologetics. For them, Palestine, located in Arab region and inhabited by non-European people, is not an empty Eretz Yisrael, available if needed be as a refuge for European Jews persecuted by European Christians and fellow Jews. Many Afro-Asian leaders were known for their expressed opinion that if western Jews suffered at the hands of western societies, then the societies that inflicted the sufferings should compensate for that suffering. Both Mahatma Gandhi and King Ibn Saud of Saudi Arabia advanced this argument. The later suggested to US president Roosevelt that the oppressed Jews should be given “the choicest lands and homes of the Germans (Christian and Jewish Nazi collaborators), who had oppressed them”.

In response to Zionist propaganda that “the Jewish question is a universal human problem” - the Indian memorandum to the United Nations Special Committee on Palestine stated - “The responsibility for rehabilitating the victims of Hitler tyrany (Gypsies, Christians, and Jews) devolved upon the entire civilized world”. Several western countries, the US, Canada , and Australia, sponsoring the Zionist project at the UN, in fact, tighten their immigration policies, making it difficult for Nazi victims to emigrate to those countries. Pandit Nehru urged “the British to facilitate Jewish immigration into India”. In 1943, Saudi government suggested that European refugees should be divided among the members of United Nations, proportionately. However, all these suggestions were rejected by Zionist leaders.

Both Gandhi and Nehru were totally against the partition of Palestine. On March 23, 1947 - Nehru refused to grant permission to representatives of Jewish settlers to speak to his Conference for Asian Relationship. Following one of the sessions, Nehru asserted that India’s policy was based on the belief that Palestine was Arab and that it was not possible to make any decisions regarding that part of Asia without the approval of the Arabs.
