Its better not to Think Much about the afterlife (In details I mean )because we dont know How its going to be there, First you have to earn It than you wil know Inshallah Allahu Aliem

To receive our reward or to face our punishment. Either one.

Good question....The greatest purpose of afterlife is that Allah's Justice will be served to all creation including the orphans, the poor, the oppressed, the animals, the earth, the murdered everything!!! That is why the afterlife is given names like Yamul Deen (Day of Reckoning) Yamul Hisab (day of accounting), Al Haqqah (The realty) of what happened in our temporary stay in this life. That is why it That is scary and makes us give others their due RIGHTS. The other purpose is for God to show His ultimate mercy to His chosen believers. All that can be explained by just reading Surah at-Tin (95).

The afterlife is:

(1) Eternal, hard to imagine living for 70 trillion years and still living!!! Makes us think about the ratio of this life compared to afterlife ~80 yrs. < 800000+ yrs Keep adding zeros

(2) There are only extremes meaning heaven and hell. Living in extreme pain or extreme joy. Those who did not commit shirk (associate partners with God) will live in hell for limited time.

(3) We eat, drink what we want. That could be your pupose for 20 trillion years because you personally enjoy it so much. The foods there are not like here. It is infinitely better.

(4) We meet people and interact with them. There is no lying, backbiting, cheating, stealing etc.

(5) Most importantly we get to see our Creator every Friday.

The ultimate reward, if you've been good.

Or, the ultimate punishment, if you've been a bad boy.

Really I thought this life was a test, to see what we deserve in the afterlife.
If we fail this test - be bad we deserve the fires of hell, If we pass this test - be good we deserve jannah.
Wherever we go we shall live for ever - etarnal. We will not commit sins and most importantly, as been pointed out by Ghira, we will see our creator every Friday.

Is there actually any evidence that we are ONLY going to see Allah (swt) every Friday? Please quote evidence before saying anything, and only evidence we have in Islam is qalla Allah wa qalla Rasull, that is Allah (swt) said and his Messenger said.

In authentic hadith in Muslim it is stated all people of Paradise will see Allah (swt) and that will be the greatest joy of Paradise.

And Allah knows best

Title of thread is technically WRONG...

It should've been "What's the purpose of this life on earth"....

AfterLife is "the" actual life..... This life is just a temporary assessment stage....
=======

& if u ment, what would be our goals there & what would be our ambitions etc.... then, Quran says paradis'ians will se fruits like they saw in world but tasting much better & different.....

I would say, we'll have similar goals & ambitions like our "naf's" has now BUT religion has put limits on it..... i.e, wealth/women/wine/wishes/wings to fly & enjoy/Water that never gets dry/Fruits & Females & Fun. AfterLife will be exactly like this life minus all evils & injustices whereby deserving are in pain & non-deserving are enjoying. AfterLife would be much enhanced in reward & punishment.

This world is often difficult & painful for innocent & comfortable for wrong-doers..... In AfterLife this glitch will be fixed..... :) Easy & comfortable for paradis'ians & difficult & painful for hell'ish....

The purpose of this life is to attain allahs pleasure, a day will come when allah will be happy with us in aakhirah what better joy u need other than to know that ur creator is pleased with you?

and yes apart from that there unlimited blessings with pure joy, oh i just cant wait to be here, may allah help us all and have mercy on us.

i did hear that we will be able to see allah azzawajal every friday and seats will be reserved for those who were near to imaam on jumua prayers
