At IslamExpo

11-14 July 2008

London’s Olympia opens its doors to Europe’s largest four-day Islamic exhibition!

This year the festival will offer Muslims and non-Muslims alike an ideal opportunity to learn and deepen one's understanding and knowledge of Islamic heritage and culture, through a vibrant series of exhibitions, workshops, live shows, concerts and debates.

IslamExpo's vast exhibition space will feature:

• Sports Zone – Watch or participate in tournaments, or meet Football and Cricket celebrities

• Cookery Zone – Watch our celebrities in action and meet the Expochef.

• Fun Zone - Fun for all the family, from bouncy castles to exciting rides.

• Fashion Zone – Watch Islamic fashion shows, bridal wear and displays from around the Muslim world.

• Health and Lifestyle zone – Indulge in health and beauty treatments, get advice or simply put on some henna.

• Islamic Gardens – Relax or reflect in our Persian, Andalusian, Mughal and Ottoman gardens.

• Entertainment – Experience performances, film, theatre, concerts, nasheeds, comedy and more. Artists Include Outlandish, Zain Bhikha, Junaid Jamshed, Rachid Gholam and Kareem Salama

• Islamic Art Zone – Meet calligraphers from as far as China, Pakistan, Turkey and Syria; Discover the richness of British Muslim art talent; Explore the art collections of Al-Furqan (including the Kiswa of the Ka’bah), Al-Jadir Silver Collection for the first time in the UK, and of the Prince’s School.

• Interactive Learning Zone- Explore interactive exhibitions; see precious manuscripts and artefacts including rare copies of the Quran, Torah scrolls, and Bibles; and take a journey back in time through the interactive Islamic history timeline.

• Souk – Whether you are looking for hijabs, abayas, perfumes or pieces of art, all can be found in this traditional Arabian bazaar.

Key debate themes this year will encompass: Interfaith dialogue, Climate change, Multiculturalism, Anti-terror legislation and Sharia law.
