An article I came across, and like usual i share them:)

A man has launched an online auction of his 'entire life' in an effort to make a new start following the break-up of his marriage.

Ian Usher, who emigrated to Australia six years ago, is selling his house, car, job and even his friends to the highest bidder on eBay.

Usher’s auction ends at 5am on Sunday 29 June and bids for his life have already exceeded £1 million. But he isn’t the first person to open a weird auction online.

Odd News presents a gallery of 10 of the craziest ever items posted for sale online.

Albert is a small ghost town in Texas. In 2004, insurance broker Bobby L Cave purchased the town for a mere $216,000. He invested a further $500,000 building a tavern on the site of the town's former general store. By 2007, with the town totally bereft of residents, Cave put Albert up for sale on eBay with a reserve price of $2.5 million.

Florida resident Diane Duyser’s prized possession was a 10-year old toasted cheese sandwich that amazingly never decayed and, even more amazingly, bore the image of a women. Diane decided to cash in on her sacred sarnie. By the time her unlikely auction closed the sale had received over 1.7 million hits. The winning bidder, online casino GoldenPalace.com, paid $28,000 for the sandwich.

When American software tester Larry Star put his ex-wife’s wedding dress up for sale on eBay, he was only expecting it to sell for around $1,000. But then he hit upon an idea to drum up more interest. Star decided to pose in the dress himself and add the photos to the listing. The dress eventually sold for $3,850 and Star, now referred to simply as “The Wedding Dress Guy”, became a cult Internet celebrity and got a book deal to boot.

Six-year-old Colin Anderson believed his house was being haunted by the spirit of his dead grandfather. So his mum did the sensible thing. She put the old man’s silver cane up for sale online figuring that, with the cane out of the house, young Colin would believe the ghost had left along with it. The cane listing attracted a total of 132 bids and was eventually sold to online casino GoldenPalace.com for $65,000.

In May 2007, a 27-year-old eBay seller known only as thewildandcrazyoli decided he had outgrown his imaginary friend Jon Malipieman and put him up for sale online. He even included a picture of him along with the listings blurb. The auction attracted bids of over £1,500.

Birmingham radio DJ Tim Shaw paid a heavy price after he propositioned Jodie Marsh live on his show on Kerrang FM. His furious wife Hayley decided her husband’s on-air flirting was the last straw in their relationship and immediately sold his £25,000 Lotus Espirit Turbo sports car on eBay for the knockdown price of 50 pence.
