The Woman Who Offers Support At The Time Of Calamity

In At-Tabaqat, it is narrated that Fatimah az-Zahra (ra), the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (saw), used to go hungry for days. One day her husband ‘Ali (ra) noticed that she looked pale, and asked her, “What is the matter with you, O Fatimah?” She said, “For three days we have not found anything to eat in the house.” He said, “Why did you not tell me?” She said: “My father, the Messenger of Allah, told me on the night I got married: “Oh Fatimah, if ‘Ali brings you something then eat it, and if he does not, then do not ask him.”

But many women specialise in emptying their husbands’ pockets. As soon as they see some money there, they declare a state of emergency in the house, and do not calm down until they have taken everything.

Undoubtedly, if a man gives in once, this problem will never end and disputes will eventually arise which may ultimately result in divorce.

May Allah (swt) keep us all content with His blessings and may He make us all perfect partners for our spouses. Ameen.
