View Full Version : Is wearing the Hijab mandatory? Because my faith in this matter is swaying.

Salams,

I'm nearly 15 years old, and I've been wearing the Hijab for exactly 3 years.
At the time I was really glad to wear it, and believed it was necessary to be a good Muslim woman.

However, recently I have been reading the Qur'an and find no explicit mention for wearing a Hijab. I agree totally that it is compulsory to dress modestly, but now I do not really believe as much that it is compulsory to wear the Hijab.

Many many good female Islamic Scholars that I know of do not wear the Hijab, and these women must understand whether it is mandatory or not, surely?
I could do with some help and guidance both for and against wearing a Hijab, please.
