this one on the right is masjid ul hidaayah blackburn:

the jamiatul ilm wal huda and masjid, on the right of this theres another massive madrassa, this only one of their buildings

the jame masjid, well part of it

2393492456 642d1c214f 1?v0 -

dunno the name but its on whalley range

masjid noor ul islam i think, they are building a brand new one, this is just opposite and further up the road from jame masjid...two massive masjids practically next to each other

this is just a few of the load of masjids we have in Blackburn, many of them are quite big. I feel so sad when i see them and know that not one of them caters for women

This ill-managed lump of grey concrete, believe it or not, is the main Masjid for Nottingham. In fact, it is to my knowledge the only purpose-built Masjid in Nottingham.

We are the capital of the east Midlands, why do we have such an ugly Masjid whilst other, less important towns like Peterbourgh and Derby have really nice ones?

Masjid Al Farooq

I remember when it was a wee masjid. you'd enter the park lot and get down.. go straight down the stairs to school. or you would go right to the mosque and on the right. during break time, I remember visiting the Halal Foods store on the left, eating those strawberry shortcake ice cream/cookie sandwich or (omg) Halal Rice Crispies treat. :giggling:

Oh man, I saw all kinds of Muslims there. I met a Chinese Palestinian Muslim. Muslims from all over the world.

thats the masjid where I learned to pray.

This is Al Aqsa, about a hundred metres to the left of this picture would be the Dome of the Rock

We had to go through metal detectors, and the police gave us a thorough check over, then we had to queue up for over an hour. We went up from the Jewish side, up the wooden walkway, and you go up onto the temple Mount under the blue canopy that you see. As you go onto the mount, there is a sign that says, you are entering a most sacred place where God is always present, next to this sign are police with guns, and there are riot shields stacked nearby. We only had about ten minutes on the Temple Mount, and were not allowed in either building, it seemed deserted of life, apart from pilgrims.

This is the Wailing Wall, or Western Wall, the Jews place their written prayers in the gaps between the stones, The Dome of the Rock is above.

We saw a group by the Wailing Wall, casually carrying guns as if they were an accessory like a handbag, not what you would expect in a Holy Place

Blessings

Masjid ul Aqsa isn't just the building with the yellow dome. (Qubbat al sukhra)

Masjid ul Aqsa isn't just the building with the black/grey dome. (Qibly Masjid)

Masjid ul Aqsa, isn't a building made of bricks and mortar with a dome on top.

Masjid ul Aqsa/the al-Aqsa sanctuary, refers to the whole area, in which those two mosques (and others) are located. There are multiple mosques on the site that we know as Masjid ul Aqsa. We think of Masjid ul Aqsa as the building with the black dome at the southernmost corner of the Mosque. In actual fact, that is the Qibly mosque – so called because it is the closest to the Qibla. The whole mount is Masjid ul Aqsa and is sometimes referred to the Haram Al-Sharif to prevent confusion. But there are other mosques present on the site which are usually connected to historical incidents e.g. the Buraq masjid, the Marwani masjid and more.

Some people refer to the black dome mosque as Masjid al Aqsa, and the whole area as the al-Aqsa sanctuary, in order to distinguish between the two.

The pictures below show what al Aqsa is:

If you go there and ask our Palestinian brothers and sisters, where is Masjid ul Aqsa, they won't point to the mosque with the yellow dome, they won't point to the mosque with the black dome, they will gesture all around and say, "kulluhu al Aqsa" (All of it is al Aqsa). The whole area, including the mosques within it, is al Aqsa.
