I am not very sure about the status of music;

But I know one thing for sure... Music is one of the tools of Sheytan and supporting Sheytan is totally prohibited.

And Allah Knows Best

Duff has not got any bells, as music is haraam.

In Islam,all musicial instruments are haraam and considered tools of shaytan to lead man astray. What is allowed is a daff, a one sided drum, and that too at specific occasions.

When is it permissible to beat the daff?

There are different versions of the a daff, some are plain and some have other bells and jingles attached to them.

This one is islamically acceptable

But this one is not...
