A teenager has become the youngest British woman to give birth to conjoined twins, after her two daughters were successfully delivered by Caesarean section yesterday morning.

Laura Williams, 18, and her husband Aled, 28, named the girls Faith and Hope after they decided not to heed early medical advice to abort the foetuses.

The twins are believed to be joined from breastbone to navel but have separate hearts. Only around 5 per cent of conjoined twins survive the first 24 hours, but doctors remain optimistic about the pair's chances as they are joined at the front.

Subhan Allah.........

May allah save them. I like their names: hope and faith
this remind me those old irani twins that were conjoined from the heads.

The couple had been given medical advice to have the babies aborted, but decided against it. Perhaps that explains the names they chose for their daughters.

I think it is yet unknown whether there is a chance to separate the two sisters.

Baby Faith is fighting for her own life. They are giving her a 50:50 chance of survival.
I pray for God's protection on her life.

Sadly Faith, the second conjoined twin, also lost her fight for life. She passed away on Christmas Day.
My condolences are with her parents and family.

The conjoined twin Faith Williams died on Christmas Day, three weeks after losing her sister, Hope, during an operation to separate them.

The pair were born on November 26, joined at the chest, and doctors had warned their parents that their chances of survival were not great.

Faith survived three major operations during her four-week life but finally succumbed yesterday afternoon, it was announced today.
