View Full Version : Do you drink...

Enough water in a day?
The amount of water we consume in a day is vital to maintaining helathy bodies.
Our body is approximatley 60% water and even a slight decrease in this amount can effect us quite a lot.
Below is a summary I found of the functions of water in our body.
http://www.mayoclinic.com/popupnowra...d=display_full
It is recommened that we drink approximately 8 glasses a day....just wondering how many people actually do this.....?

Erm....:-[
I do drink when I'm thirsty, which is quite often and after meals. But I don't think I go out of my way to make sure I drink 8 glasses of water a day.
InshAllah I'll try to be more hydro-friendly :)

I think I get more than 8 glasses a day..
On a similar note, it's probably best not to go overboard with drinking water:

I know lol. Only bad thing about it is that I end up having to go to the bathroom a lot, and that gets really annoying, really fast.
I have a water bottle with me at all times, at school, home, in my bag when I'm out. It really helps, because sometimes even if I'm thirsty, I'm too lazy to get some water. So it's readily available alhamdullilah. :)

I heard that you don't have to drink 8 glasses a day on the radio a while ago. They also said that various other things that people think about the body are nto really true, like the idea that hair grows back faster after you shave it.

i just drink whenever im thirsty be that 1 glass or a hundred :p (its never reached that though :skeleton:)...i dont get them people who shove water down their throats every 2 seconds *coughmysiscough* :D..i mean if your body needed water, then you would be thirsty, right :? so why do people insist on forcing themselves to drink like 8 glasses a day :? i seriously don't get it

I drink lots of plain water (more than 8 glasses), especially when I am in the office where the air-condition makes my eyes and throat very dry,,,
If it's a very hot day, I could drink more than 8 bottles (1.5 litre each)

Oh yeah come to think of it I remember a story our biology teacher once told us back in college about sum women that was competing in some tournament to see who could drink the most water for a wii... unfortunately poor woman died of over hydration (is there such a word..) before getting her hands on that wii... lesson to be learnt don't get too carried away with drinking water....

I used to hate drinking water a few years ago. Probably had maybe a glass (if that) everyday. Obviously I had other drinks e.g. cola etc
Now I cant live without water! :D:D
Esp if I have dessert. I NEED water after that. Which I heard is good cuz it keeps your glucose levels down. Not sure if its true but *shrug* alhumdullillah water really keeps you fresh and healthy...
